Brothers In Arms
By Dire Straits, Marcelo Zarvos
These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Some day you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn
To be brothers in arms
Through these fields of destruction
Baptisms of fire
I've witnessed your suffering
As the battles raged higher
And though we were hurt so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms
There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones
Now the sun's gone to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

It's Been Awhile
By Staind
And it's been awhile
Since I could hold my head up high
And it's been awhile
Since I first saw you
And it's been awhile
Since I could stand on my own two feet again
And it's been awhile
Since I could call you
And everything I can't remember
As f[raiders_icon]cked up as it all may seem
The consequences that I've rendered
I've stretched myself beyond my means
And it's been awhile
Since I can say that I wasn't addicted
And it's been awhile
Since I can say I love myself as well
And it's been awhile
Since I've gone and f[raiders_icon]cked things up just like I always do
And it's been awhile
But all that shit seems to disappear when I'm with you
And everything I can't remember
As f[raiders_icon]cked up as it all may seem
The consequences that I've rendered
I've gone and f[raiders_icon]cked things up again
Why must I feel this way?
Just make this go away
Just one more peaceful day!
And it's been awhile
Since I could look at myself straight
And it's been awhile
Since I said I'm sorry
And it's been awhile
Since I've seen the way the candles light your face
And it's been awhile
But I can still remember just the way you taste
And everything I can't remember
As f[raiders_icon]cked up as it all may seem to be I know it's me
I cannot blame this on my father
He did the best he could for me
And it's been awhile
Since I could hold my head up high
And it's been awhile
Since I said I'm sorry

[quote=352Raider post_id=311668]TD where did you live? I was born and lived in Elgin til I was 24 then moved to Florida almost 30 years ago...God I miss ChicagoFest[/quote]
nw Ind. about 15 miles from downtown Chitown, work across the street from city hall
loved the Fest when it was on Navy Pier, although I understand why it was moved...parking and more space
now they call it Taste of Chicago and it's in Grant Park, where they have bigger acts at the Petrillo Band Shell and more room for small stages than Navy Pier did
