Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

The very vast majority of NFL teams are going to have at minimum one unproven starter on their oline. That's just how it works. The Raiders in a rebuild are no different. I wouldn't hesitate to have Grant at RT. You aren't going to get a veteran outside of a trade. The draft route is still an unproven player. No guarantee a worthy day 1 starter tackle is at 36. Grant coming out of William & Mary was praised for having better technique than draft eligible tackles at the top ranks of D1. I'm all for more competition, obviously. The RT could very well already be on the team with a season of bulking/strength training/getting used to the NFL already under his belt

The Pats took a tackle 4th overall who got fuckin Mollywhopped much of the season. Grant has some excellent traits. He was born to be an NFL tackle. Hes a former wrestler who understands leverage, like Linderbaum

Deebo has definitely lost a step but that’s also why he’s not going to cost a fortune.MexicanHulk wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2026 4:47 pm I’m a definite NOPE on Debo &, a HELL NO on Jennings.
Debo has lost two steps already. He was force to fed last year with Wash &, his numbers were still bad when you really look into it. His depth of target was crap &, YPC were shyte. He got so many screens, quick slants, etc, while not creating much after the catch. He’s fat, slower &, not exactly a great locker room guy.
Jennings, I’ve always been of the opinion, he’s extremely overrated. So with the other posters who said the same about him. He’s terrible in man coverage, meh in zone. His numbers only came cause Shanahan’s scheme, having 3-4 elite targets taking up all the defensive attention that, left him wide open so often. Now, I understand some of that is him. He’s at least smart enough to find the soft spots in the coverage but really, who wouldn’t be when you’re not really being covered. He’s a big slower WR that doesn’t create much separation with his speed/breaks in his route running.
I myself would hate these as signings. Even more so at their price tags.
Plus, I think Tucker/Bech will be better than them going forward. & I have a good feeling about Thornton. Not sure if he’ll breakout this year but, maybe next. While providing some value this year too.
I guess what I worry about is being too heavily invested in unknowns. Don’t really know what we have in any of them. I’m not saying relegate them to the darkest corner of the bench - these guys should have every opportunity to earn their reps. But I also think we need someone other than bowers that gives us a little more reliability there.

Not sure about starting right away, or which position he'll play... but I wouldn't mind drafting Jennings DunkerBoJacksonRules wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:34 pm Which starting caliber RT do think will still be on the board when we’re on the clock in Rd 2?

That much swagger brings guaranteed success haha. Obviously hope he can play RT, but not sure how coaches see him.

What do you expect them to say? To me, there's not a world where Mendoza isn't our week 1 starter.
