Mike Florio wrote an article about Carr. Some things he said really make sense. I highlighted a few.
Why would he want to be traded? Some would say that’s the only way he’ll get his $40.4 million in guarantees. But that’s wrong. Any team that would assume Carr’s contract and give the Raiders value for it would pay Carr at least that much as a free agent. A new team would pay him more if they didn’t have to send a draft pick or a player or both or whatever to get Carr.
Carr could go along with the effort to trade him for now, if only to give his agent a head start on gauging the market, once Carr is released.
He’ll be free, a month before the unrestricted free agents become available.

He'll be released and we'll save cash, that's it.

Don't lock the thread, don't ban the guy. That shit there is communism. Derek is a great dude. I do not personally know him but he's fighting for good causes. By most accounts he's doing some good things with his boat load of money, which not all folks do. That being said he's had 9 years of sloppy play. If he goes somewhere else and does well great, if not it's the same as here and he's still a good human being.
I recall watching a shit ass middling Texas Tech team going for it on 4th and 30 with a certain quarterback, watching at work while munching a righteous grilled chicken burrito. He converted and that happened about 4 times on various 4th downs after i watched the highlights later. I thought to myself, that dude has it. That guy is now running this division. Have to beat that, period. It's all Raiders, Derek shouldn't have left the team and acted like that. He knows it's business
