This was a bad game. This same patriots team got beat 30-6 2 weeks ago. The rams have been beat 27-7.

This is year one of a complete overhaul with a rookie head coach and defensive coordinator.

Nobody thought we were gonna be undefeated. We looked like we never got off the bus on a trip all the way east in the early slot.

It sucked but shit happens.

Our D line is non existent (even against a BAD OL like the Pats have) and our secondary is bad (young but always makes at least one coverage mistake per game). I am not ragging because we all knew we were a year out (best case). What sucks is not only did Maxx's trade get nullified, but we immediately signed Paye. He BLOWS (it pains me to say this because I know him and he is a good kid). I am hoping we trade Maxx to the Cowboys this week. We need to do this. We would hopefully inject 4 starters (2 draft picks and 2 top FA signings).

That is exactly the team I was thinking of if a trade were to happen before the deadline. Come on Jerruh!!! Spy needs to send a case of Blue Label and call him up after delivery confirmation at about 11PM. Hammer it out.

Nice to see Mendoza get some live action. Odds are high we will see him soon as Cousins is not built to take this kind of beating in such a long season, especially if he so much as misses a single Metamucil dose. He looked fragile, immobile and very old.

Why is it that most other games a defense either gets pressure up into the QBs grill or actually get to them, but we just can’t? Frustrating because it would change the game completely.

Still 4-5 players from being 4-5 players from not only making the playoffs, but having a chance at winning one. Hell, we’re still underdogs during the regular season on a pretty consistent basis. A lot is still needed to even make the playoffs let alone be favored in one.

Not close to giving up on this team as we all knew it was year one and we were razor thin everywhere.

Only got to watch up until the Pats' first TD and then was able to see Mendoza's drive.

Having not checked the box score is it safe to assume the defense didn't cause any turnovers? Seems that's the one constant in the games they've won vs lost. Although if you're giving up 45 doesn't really matter if you forced 1 or 2 takeaways.

Adam Butler forced a fumble on Pat's side of the field. We couldn't capitalize. Gay's FG attempt doinked off the upright. His first miss.

Mendoza did look sharp--better than he did in preseason. It was garbage time and the Pats were running a very loose defense designed to kill time.

I've bitched about not putting the kid in bubble wrap, but if we hit the 4-6 or 4-7 mark (or something like that) then he needs to come in regardless of whether the O-line and running game are bad. Getting him experience under live fire is vital to next season unless we're serious playoff contenders this season.

We won't be serious playoff contenders this season .

RaiderandBulldog wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 10:17 pm Well I finally had time to watch the whole game and I wish I hadn’t. It was like watching the Raiders last year. I think a few of use need to remember where we are. I don’t think anyway saw I going to the SB after last year and we should remember a few things,

1 We are still 3-2. Season is far from over. I think of all us would have taken this record after five games. We can still make the playoffs.

2 We went across the country against an angry defending AFC champ. The Pats aren’t chumps. The emotional game last week didn’t help. Sometimes you just get your ass kicked.

3 I am glad we saw Fernando come in during garbage time and not seeing uses stats from Cousins. I doubt we see Fernando come in as the starts until we are knocked out of the playoff hunt. I personally don’t want that because I want to make the playoffs.

4 I am not going to blame the offense for the defense giving up 45 points. They had their worst game of the year and didn’t do their part.

5 Good to see Laube get a touchdown and not just make social media posts.
For sure. So the team that continued to bring pressure (The Pats) was the team that disrupted the other teams offense greatly and the team that didn't bring pressure (The Raiders) was the team to give up 45. So my thought is, did the coaches think if we were more aggressive we would have given up 60+ points? Going back to spaggs, if were going to lose I rather lose being aggressive. Why didn't we adjust around 21-28 points of them easily taking whatever they wanted? Are they that set on a Tuesday's game-plan that they are to stubborn to change it when things aren't clearly working?

I think we've seen now that when we go back to almost all vanilla it looks a lot like last year, because the QB is trained to know where the gaps are when they have time and they can read the D. When we show bunched fronts (this seems to be getting more popular around the league) good things happen from both pressure and unsure coverage. Sure every so often you give up an easy 7. But 7 isn't 45 pussy passive points. So as we go along this how it's going to go? We're going to play passive? Oh no we suck again!

Again you start aggressive to change the QB's clock and this is exactly what happened to Cousin's, then you can start to mix in other fronts. Many were saying Cousin's was hurrying up during times the pressures wasn't too bad. The Pats already adjusted his clock for the game. That is exactly what we didn't try to do to their QB at all. We start the season aggressive, have a ton of great stats and then we do that? Why? It was like two teams playing with a different rule set. We were lambs out there. Just laid down, here come eat me!

The Pats rushed at least 4 against Mendoza (with a blitz as well). Sure it was not the same as a tight game. That being said, the Pats line wanted to hit Mendoza.

After a good nights sleep and some more deep pondering I have arrived at this:

It was almost as if the worst team in football last year was beat badly by a super bowl team from last year.

On to the Bills

Right but you and I know there is a lot more nuance than that.
Pats haven't been SB worthy, they are starting to get their form.
We've over-achieved.
So now we just go back to, we expect to suck? I mean we started there, but you string some wins things change.
The part that bothers me the most is the D play calling remaining the same while were being thrashed and next the oline.
It was a sucky loss because we looked clueless all over the place and that is just so different than the first 4 games.

Of course. As Raiders fans we want improvement. I think we are improving but still a far cry from "good".

Pats are coming from a super bowl appearance and while injured, still very well coached and have talent in their depth role players.

Did the game feel like a letdown?.......a little I guess but that is because many of us were too confident in an early 3-1 record.

The part is this simply didn't feel like the team the first 4 weeks and one from last year.
Why? That's Kubiak's job to figure out.
There is now way NE is that much better than KC.
We laid an egg... why?
