Vita Vea Requests a Trade

Unread post by Be_Easy_25 »

Should we pursue him?
What’s his trade value?

Plus it frees up future picks that would be used trying to draft that special NT. Like on a WR etc

Spending upper mid picks for homerun type players is fine by me.

Name a 3rd rounder the Raiders have drafted in the past 10 years that has blown you away and is better than Vea?
yes, it fills a huge hole for the raiders on defense for a few yrs allowing us to find his replacement via the draft

I believe Eddie Vanderdoes was drafted in that time frame and in the 3rd. Not even close to the same player. Jihad Ward was in the 2nd - same thing.

I'd agree with this line of thinking and reasoning.
I'd also be more comfortable giving a single pick and a couple dump players the previous staff selected that this staff is not high on.

As far as pick compensation that's up to the team. As regards his salary, he would probably accept less from a team that is sure to go deep into the playoffs. Which makes it harder for us to offer him something attractive.

Most likely scenario to me is Tampa Bay finds a way to at least keep him this year.

I agree - they'll hang onto him unless someone gives them really good trade compensation. They have a good chance to win that shaky division with him in the middle of the D.

I agree. They will give him more money to keep him this season at least. Unless someone offers too much to turn down

Vita would be a menace in the middle of this defense. He fills the final need. DB's & backers got some good additions. Maxx back, Koonce two years off ACL, Paye & Crawford. Need that inside stud. Go get Vita!

Would Vita fill a need? Of course, but so would a few other players who are also still under contract. I would not be surprised if his recent words were simply a way for him to leverage a better deal, most likely with TB, or a west coast team who unlike the Raiders, are in a "win now" mode.

Love to have him in Silver and Black but between the salary it would take to land him and the draft capital TB would insist on, realistically, I just don't see him coming to Vegas.

If the raiders get Vito Vea….we are probably looking at 8 to 9 win seasons…the raiders defense actually just got better; solid Nose Tackles are hard to find in the NFL…

I would trade Maxx for Vea straight up & not look back!

Think that would be a pretty decent trade
