The Off. Line - Complaints, Fixes, Questions, Draft
Mike Tice once said while coaching for the Raiders: “If you look at the offense like a fancy car, the offensive line is the engine. Even though we might have nice spinners and nice rims and tinted windows and some neat paint job, it doesn’t mean crap without the engine. If the engine’s not working, the car might look like a pretty nice car, but it’s a piece of crap.” And he was 100% right. I wish we had him back. Changes must be made on the O-line. Charles Grant is a very athletic lineman. We should give him some reps at right tackle. Bring back Powers-Johnson as the starter at center. Parham has got to go. Maybe we should consider moving Meredith back to guard. He did so well there last year.

I don't want to hear the protections talk. What protections? You mean the calls that has a defender running free every play? JPJ can't do any worse than that.

We don't care what you want to hear. Discussion is free as are the topics and directions those topics run to.mranquales wrote: Thu Sep 25, 2025 11:42 am I don't want to hear the protections talk. Yeah, it ain't that. JPJ's still injured.SkullCrusher wrote: Thu Sep 25, 2025 11:42 am Right now it's a fan-fiction/theory, if someone cares enough go ask 'Hawk fans of the situation and see if Pete has any history of dog houses. I've never heard of one from him.
No one's happy with the O-line situation but Ithe coaching staff should enough credit to know who's able to play and who's not. Concussions aren't just finicky, they're a lot more dangerous than people seem to think. I'd rather see JPJ held out for a few more weeks and then return healthy than see him in and out of the lineup all season long.

I agree, blitz pickups have been pretty terrible. Whoever is making the calls now, Meredith or Cappa, are not doing a good job.mranquales wrote: Thu Sep 25, 2025 11:42 am I don't want to hear the protections talk. What protections? In actually willing to give Meredith some more time. Now Parham has sucked for years and Cappa was awful all last year too. Get those two out of there.

Miller/Kenyon Green/Meredith/JPJ/Glaze
If Meredith is gonna play C that’s ^ what I wanna see. Does Green have to clear waivers? If not why haven’t we signed him yet.

Even our special teams suck...we are ranked 31 in allowing yards on kick offs.

Unless Kelse snapped a shotgun snap off his ass they're nothing alike.
