No team has ever hired a coach this age. Spin it all you want, I’ll look at the positives and hope for the best, but we’re in uncharted waters.
The current average length of tenure for a head coach in the NFL is three years. Three years. There just aren't very many Mike Tomlins, John Harbaughs or Andy Reids out there.
If Carroll was 50 or 60-something, would you be more on board?
I don’t know why everybody keeps bringing up Russell Wilson. I’m pretty sure Pete was still the head coach when they got rid of Russell Wilson in Seattle.
Because they got a boatload for him and that was an offer they could not refuse

You can’t complain about bringing in a guy who is all about culture & winning
I’d love to see Frank Smith brought in as OC & given a proper chance to call plays with Rob Leonard getting a promotion to DC to learn under Carroll
Have guys who if they do well could take over on a few years

My guess is an OC or DC who is brought in will be brought in with the intention of being mentored by Carroll to become the successor when he leaves.

If you have Wilson with a rookie behind him then atleast you have a plan going forward
As for Wilson having beef with Carroll didnt he fly out for Carroll’s retirement dinner last year, if there was still beef between them then no way Wilson even turns up.

Bring in Wilson? Bring in Kiffin? I am sure glad you all are not the general manager of this team!

I'm in the minority and would gladly eat crow. Consider me underwhelmed.

If you had told me 10 years ago, without identifying the timeframe or specific roles, that Tom Brady and Pete Carroll would be joining the Raiders, I would have been ecstatic. Pants off! Championships!
Here it is, but not anyway close to what/how/when I would have imagined. My pants are on, but it’s still somewhat exciting.
Pete will outlive Reid and likely most of us lol
I have no doubt. Whatever Vegas has set as the over/under for Pete, I’ll take the over.

While the moves might be unlikely, it wouldn’t be because the Raiders wouldn’t desire it.

Wilson just finished proving that rumors of his death were a bit exaggerated
