I understand the "we aren't there yet" comments. I really do. And I agree. But one thing needs to happen and happen NOW. And that is extending Bowers. We lose him to another team and it's game over.
By rule he can’t be extended until after year 3. So after year 3 you pick up the 5th yr option and then work on the deal extending from there

Beating a dead horse, I'd like to see Mendoza on those critical 3rd and 4th down 1 yards push tush type plays. He has the body to do it much better than Kirk.
Oh, and screen passes. They work when your guards are like a revolving door.

Just put in Mendoza and be done with it. Our ceiling is one and done anyways.

Looking at that gauntlet of Defenses we’re gonna be playing. Even the Rams could prove a rough go if Garrett is back (he’ll be off IR). It looks to me like we’ll be watching Cousins helm the squad until the December 13th game against the new embarrassment of the AFC West, the San Diego Chargers (f[raiders_icon]ck Spanos). Depending on our record of course.

I don't want to hear noodle arm anymore...Cousins can put zip on the ball when he wants to...Garoppolo is what I consider your classic noodle arm!!!

This game started out the 2nd half like so many before. 3 and out then the D gives up a long drive. Some things never change.
It was so refreshing to see the team dust themselves off and not give up. Fought tooth and nail and gave them a fight to the end. A real coaching staff has already made a big difference. We need some more horse for sure but its hard to feel totally down after a loss like this. Last week brought out the fear that the teams improvement was a mirage. We may not be back but it feels like we are on the way

Agreed.
Cousin's arm or his play isn't why we are losing.

Defense is still our weakness. Especially in the middle but I’m glad to see our team show up. Nothing special about our ST unit. Running game improved a little. Kubiak needs to scheme Bowers to get going early. So far for the first 1/3 of this season, we looked decent. Compared to rest of the AFC, we have a chance to make the playoffs.

Better than I thought it was going to be. Trending correctly. Look forward to Mendo at some point

Coming into this year. I think most of us wanted proof or at least hope that Klint was the right hire and the Raiders would look like a pro football team this year. In the last three weeks we have played the three best teams in the AFC and in 2/3 of the games. We could have won.
Eventually this could have wons need to turn into wins but for now. I can live with the progress,
1 It’s clear Kirk is the guy Klint will ride with this year. Sometimes he has a middle arm and other times he can still throw deep. Until the Raiders are eliminated with the playoffs I am fine with that.
2 Tucker has to be our number 1 WR
3 Klint made a lot of choices today that didn’t make sense to me. The play calling and the challenge at the end of the third didn’t make sense.
4 Defense again had issues. They are the unit that will take the longest to fix but what else is new? Are they horrible? No but you won’t win many games against the top teams with what we have now.
5 Bowers needs to be signed before some else takes him away.

We have bowers for 3.5 more season. 1.5 rookie deal, 1 rookie option, 1 franchise tag. We will lock him up at some point

Defense despite 28th in run D, 29th in red zone D, held up for 3 quarters despite endless mistakes from our young secondary. in the 4th quarter, the Bills O line ultimately won the battle. Amazing with all the changes our ability to stop the run still stinks. Ever notice our best offense comes when we have to pass? Kubiak is killing us with an endless push for a run game that for 6 games has hurt us. How about an up-tempo passing attack? It can work! 4-5 receiver sets spread them out mix up some runs for a change wear the D out. WE are 8th in the league in offense because we have a passing attack with no help from a running game. Take advantage of what we do best, let the running game come, don't force it.

Klint’s offense is built around the run, he can’t ditch it.
