raiders win.
It's imperative that the Raiders get Bowers back, if for nothing else, space the floor so Jeanty has more room to run. That's why we need to draft WR in the first round, a WR that opposing teams have to respect will automatically make defenses think twice about stacking the box.

I agree that this Saint game is definitely winnable, but the Saints are the best team we've faced so far.

We are 2 games into the new season and already a win away from the total we had last year. Saints could be tough but Kubiak will have them ready. They believe in themselves, believe they can win anywhere, any team, any given Sunday. We all said show us and so far they have.
Saints cannot just focus on stacking the box daring Cousins to throw, plus he will most likely have Bowers back. Tucker is getting schemed open and Jeanty had a bad day but don’t expect that to be a norm.
For all the Leonard naysayers, he’s done an incredible job so far. Still plenty to clean up but if you pay attention to every team in the league, that could be said about every single one.
We are winning and that’s all that matters in a show me league. Nobody could expect more after 2 games and sitting atop our division undefeated. Every phase of our team is better so far in this young season.

Back up DE Tyree Wilson had zero tackles for them and he was not inactive or injured. Another former Raider, fourth round pick Decameron Richardson is a backup for the Saints and doing nothing. Daniel Carlson is 4 for 5 with a long of 51 yards. Derek Carr remains retired.
The Saints brain trust needs to ignore their FA acquisition department and instead come here to get accurate player assessments They did sign Carlson but I think most of us would've told them he'd be a solid pick-up; or they could just have us as a team they don't deal with.

GM: "Who is this player?"

Scout: "The Raiders cut him."

GM: "Oh, f**k that guy."

Also, just for clarification to the posters who think Jeanty isn't good. Obviously opposing defenses disagree with you, because for the last 19 games, defenses have given Ashton Jeanty the Micheal Jordan treatment. All of our opponents watch film and come up with strategies during the week, and the game plan on defense consistently comes back to STOP ASHTON JEANTY. That doesn't happen if Ashton Jeanty was a bust. Jermiah Love was drafted higher, and he hasn't shown anything so far (not saying he's a bust either). Ashton Jeanty looked good from week 1 last year.

Let us not forget, Ashton Jeanty had his best games against the hottest teams last season-- The Bears and The Texans. The Texans in particular had a top 5 defense and debatably the best defense in the NFL to close the season. Jeanty had 150+ AP yards against that Texan's defense.

The fact that it took 19 games for Ashton Jeanty to have a case of the dropsies, is a testament to how confident we all are in his ability to catch the ball. Come on, Jeanty caught a 50+ yard bomb split out wide. His catching is not in question.

If you ask me, Jeanty is seeing ghosts because he's playing on one leg. I'm afraid Jeanty did get hurt in practice, and wasn't supposed to play, but he decided to downplay his injury and soldier through it.

Its early and there are contenders and pretenders. This will be a good test (especially for our D) between travel and an away game. The Saints have been a different team since putting in Shough.

I haven't seen them play yet but they must be playing fast, no huddle etc, as they're running a lot of plays. Something like 20% more than the average team.

The Saints front 7 defense is not nearly as good as the Chargers. Olave, Vele & Johnson are excellent pass catchers. They have a couple good backs and a good oline. Shough is playing well, but the Lions had him frazzled in the first half game 1. The bastard can & will run so keeping rush pain containment is key.

We'll see what the injury report looks like but overall I like the Raiders chances. This team can play. Give Washington more carries. Let Jeantys ankle get right

Stukes availability will be huge. Hes smart, and good vs pass and run. Palo Mao is someone who gets picked on, a liability, and is often out of place, liable to give up big plays.

Dalton or Tristan might even be an upgrade over him.

So evidently in a bizarro world, 2 games don't count, but 1 game does...damn win quality police !
I get this, but the negative people have been right for nearly 25 years now.
2-0 that's nice, it is what we want to see.
I can still see our team being totally outclassed by others in the league still. No surprise.
This season so far is working towards our main fan objective here, look like were moving in a promising direction.
If we hit pay dirt, well we have weeks before we know this and it will be glorious.

Chuckle: Bears 59 to 3 points and starting QB out, journey to most point ever...
You don't get more contrast than that in one weeks time.

Jack Tatum was brutally honest about injuries--maybe too honest. I'm paraphrasing but he said that injuries happen to every team and that their bad luck was our good luck. Lining Maxx up against a backup LT is likely a big advantage for us.

I DO NOT want to start shit here, but Carr's third season was an example of us getting boned by injury. It gave Houston a free playoff win.

Same thing happened to the Donks last season when they lost Nix in the divisional round. I don't think there's any way New England gets into the Super Bowl if Nix had started. Donks bad luck = Pats good luck.

the raiders biggest threat next weekend is playing on the east coast.....

thats more worrisome than the players they will face imo

kirk continues to play safe and turnover free we will definitely win this game.

East coast? Stop worrying. New Orleans is not on the east coast, it's on the Gulf Coast... it's in CDT. Game starts at 1:25 PDT, so 3:25 CDT. They should not have troubles adjusting that.

I watched them against the Lions. They were down big and started running the no huddle/hurry up offense.
Shough is legit, they have very good WR's and a pretty good rushing attack. This will be a good barometer for our D.
