Chargers are gonna work on fixing things and there’s plenty to clean up. I’m personally glad they didn’t win as it leaves plenty of doubt in their minds on whether they’re as good as they think they are.

We also will have things to clean up but have plenty of confidence in the people tasked with doing it. We will be going into this game with a bit of swag after winning by a couple possessions, it wasn’t a fluke win or nail biter, although I was not comfortable until towards the end. Chargers will be coming in with some doubt and I believe we will be up to the task, at minimum being competitive with an outright chance at winning.

We played a good first game and need to build on it. It’s go time.

...not suggesting that the 2 are related, or anything, but is Pete's kid currently employed?....

Mcconkey got lit up late in the game and may not play. McDaniel doesn't run the Shanahan scheme as well as Klint does. Chargers new DC isn't Jesse Minter level. Those are some key thoughts

Even with both of their high quality tackles returning, the LAC OL was awful. The weak G-C-G trio up the middle derailed McDaniel, Herb and Hampton (and it all especially tanked after fragile McConkey went off the field).

Fatukasi gotta eat.
chargers lost their starting center to injury, we gotta bring pressure up the middle to screw up their offense like the cardinals did

I feel better knowing the Chargers lost after being 9.5 point favorites. It gives me hope that the Chargers are overrated and underachieving again. If they dominated Arizona I would be far more concerned.

True maybe they will rebound and they will be motivated but they should have been motivated for week 1 too.

Our team should have extra motivation for the Chargers because they kicked our ass more than any other team in the league last season (we split with the Chiefs and lost 2 close ones to Denver, and got dominated twice by the Chargers). This game is a chance to make a statement.

I know this if Kirk keeps throwing stupid INTs, we have to make the switch. A better makes us pay for those and we likely don’t win.

Harbaugh will have the Chargers sell out against the run. This will be more of a test for Kirk and the receiving core than game 1. If we are still able to take what we want on the ground in spite of that, it will be a great sign going forward.

If we win again people will be dismissing it saying we beat two weak teams. Right now they are saying we beat a weak Dolphins team. If we beat the Chargers, they will say we beat a weak team. If we lose to the Chargers, they will say we got exposed against a real team. Either way we can’t win with the doubters.

The Chargers will stack the box and dare Cousins to throw downfield, which he struggled to do against the Fins. They did the same thing to Geno in the first game against the Dolts last year.

The difference is our O-line is better now, so Cousins should have more time. Klint can line Jeanty up wide and put Mike Washington in the backfield. I’d spread them out with four wide, including Jeanty, and make them choose: keep the box loaded and risk a slow linebacker or safety covering Jeanty, or lighten it up and give Washington room to run.

We don’t need Cousins throwing bombs. If he can hit those 10–15-yard throws, the offense opens up. This is gonna be a chess match.

Cousins will need to be a West Coast guy and dink and dunk all day especially to Jeanty.

If the Chargers don’t beat us a 0-9 start is actually possible. That’s a brutal 7 game stretch after us.
