Maxx Crosby] “People try to use Derek Carr as an out for why there’s problems, and Derek is the reason why we’ve stayed in a lot of games and won a lot of games...Everyone uses the quarterback as an excuse of why this and that. Derek has done a great job...He’s a special player.”
Truth being told by our BEST player! I wonder if he’s referring to some in this form.
Drop the mic!!
Are we supposed to drop the mic on a quote that is now 3 NFL seasons old? Cmon man, that's taking reaching to a new level. Maxx hadn't even gotten sober when he said that.

People point to his minor leg break as the point where he changed. I disagree.
Something happened in that locker room that he never recovered from. The Carr that we saw thereafter was a result of that.
Do I have anything to back it up? Nope. Pure speculation on my part. We do have his play in the field (such as it was) that something changed from that point on.
If Carr's change was the Washington game, I don't think it was anything as dramatic as the o-line rebelling against him or whatever.
I think it's something a lot more banal: The Washington defense figured out how to beat Carr, every other defense in the league followed their pattern, and Carr never adjusted back.
When Carr is on, he's tough for a defense to contain. When Carr is off, he's easy for a defense to contain: Figure out the two guys he's mostly throwing to, double-cover them both, send a lot of blitzes and delayed blitzes his way, and on second-and-long or third-and-long, leave that two-yard dumpoff only loosely covered when you rush him. He'll take it almost every time, and you can tackle the RB well short of the First Down marker.
So there is a moment on that play where the 4 hole on the right opens up wide. That is a opportunity to step through and take off. Not Lord Carr.
I don't think Stidham will be the answer but I'm pretty sure, after seeing him only twice, that he takes that lane and gets out of there.

The OP has some serious PTSD going on following the news about the former QB. He probably should get that looked at.

He already constructed an offense in the off season that involved treating the football like a hot potato. The changed occurred with the injury and the unwarranted contract
