All of that said have no problem evaluating the coaching staff and they get a solid F grade for the handling of the OL from the coaching to the handling of personnel starting with JPJ and Meredith as this science project has been a complete failure. More should be expected of a veteran coaching staff.
The time to experiment is preseason. I had/have absolutely zero problems with shuffling people around to see if they're a better fit at another position or players execute a play better than another player blah blah blah. Once you see it isn't getting the results you expected or wanted, it needs to be switched back. The regular season isn't for extending your experiment with anything

That being said, I don't recall the oline looking this bad in the preseason. At least the starters didn't look like they were in clown school

Seems like ppl were saying the Raiders coaching staff in 2013 was the best they had had in years.

Tony Sparano was OLC
Bob Sanders was LBC
Bobby April was STC

No staff with Dennis Allen at HC can be the best. I believe we won 4 games that season.

What I meant was at that time, ppl were saying that was the best coaching staff the Raiders had in years. Sparano was a former HC who was a really good OLC, Sanders was a former DC who was LBC, and April was a really good STC at that time. That turned into an utter failure as we all know.

On paper it was the best coaching staff we had in years

On paper this is a great coaching staff only time will tell

The only part of the coaching staff everyone balked at was hiring Pete's son, i don’t think anyone liked it but everyone gave it a chance & it hasn’t worked

I don’t even think if this team walks out & wins the next 2-3 games the OL problems will be forgotten

Geno, Jeanty, missed plays, coaching error etc will all be put to the back of our minds if we win but as horrific as the OL is we’ll never forget it

Your writing out those excuses made them excuses.

Coach Pete is the first head coach we have had since Tom Flores who has legitimately built and coached Super Bowl teams. I would say that alone would qualify him as our best coach in the last 38 seasons.

Gruden part one was an up and comer with great promise under Al's oversight.
Gruden part two was overrated and had Tony Dungy's co signature on his Lombardi Trophy.

Interesting. I didn't hate Minshew. I just think the whole f[raiders_icon]cked up mess didn't do him any good. I think he would have produced for us with better coaching and an effective O line.

Al built those teams, not Flores. Flores went off to Seattle where he was HC and GM and bombed worse than Dresden in WW2.

That is silly. Dungy couldn't even make it to the Super Bowl with his team yet people are eager to hand him co-credit or more for the Lombardi. If Dungy had won a Super Bowl or made one, then sure. But he didn't. Because he couldn't find out offense. Gruden got the job done. The Lombardi is his.

Gruden made one move of significance in Tampa, the trophy he has is actually because of Kiffin. Gruden just did not get in Kiffin's way.

Dungy gets as much credit for his trophy as Gruden does. Which is a trophy with an * next to it. But most evidence I have seen is Dungy was every bit the coach that Gruden was but is a better person. In coaching, being a decent person is not a requirement but being a decent person is far more important than a profession.

Tom Flores is in the Hall of Fame. Tony Dungy is in the Hall of Fame.

Gruden is a .500 head coach.

Gruden didn't get shit done in Tampa which is why he ended up in the announcers booth at ESPN.
