it's unfortunate, but human nature
every time stidham [or insert new qb] throws a bad pass, or gets sacked, or whatever, the #4 fans will be out ['i told you so']
but that is no different from abc's saying '#4 wouldn't have made that' every time the new qb makes a completion
it will take a couple of years before the aftereffects of this change plays out with the fan base. some will never get past it.
With everything being equal. I can think of 3 throws I don’t think are attempted by Carr.
Devante for 60yard TD. Devante for the big play controversial catch. Moreau on the tight end release.
Derek was always all about Derek. And he will leave making the biggest stink he can. It is who he is.
Imagine if Derek simply stated, "I could have done more and I understand the organization wants to go in a different direction, while I disagree with their decision, I look forward to continuing my career with another team." You know, the sort of thing you hear from athletes all of the time. But no, Derek and his brother will make this a bloody soap opera.
I honestly blame his brothers as much as I blame him. Carr is the youngest bro and his whole life he has been told he is the next Superman. Of course he thinks nothing is his fault. Every time he could learn a lesson the Carr Media Network is out with their propaganda and he’s the first in line to buy his own excuses.
That is on Derek for only listening to Yes men, and on Derek for not shutting down that narrative and owning some of his own faults. But there’s no doubt that his cultish following have played a role in how his exit is perceived, both by himself and by the football world as a whole

Derek was a grown ass married man when he came to the Raiders. His brothers are complete douches but they can't be as responsible for his demise as the man himself.
A willingness to scramble or take a hit would not solve his non-existent pocket awareness. Or his tendency to check it down when receivers are open downfield.
It’s all theoretical at this point.
You’re arguing his football IQ
I’m arguing his fortitude.
why I think it would make a difference: because he turns down plays based on whether he takes a hit or not and also refusing to extend a play
I believe he sees the field just fine - he’s just scared.

But in a way he must have such a little kid complex, he has been treated that way his whole life. As I said, it’s on him for not growing up. But he has lived in a bubble where him growing up would be bucking the existing narrative of “protect Derek at all costs (even from himself)”

You have to assess yourself as an adult male and embrace responsibility. Perhaps the saddest part of this thing is how comfortable he appears to be with his brothers fighting his battles. It's so off putting to witness. And this is on top of crying and pussified play.
It's all been discussed, few paid attention.

Hell, Rainman56 wanted him traded after the 2016 season. In hindsight that would have been a brilliant move.
