Give me that future 1st please. Happy to take the bet Carr stinks in year 1 and it turns into a top 5 pick
I would lean more towards proven young talent if I had the choice. Future picks are a toss up, if we can land some budding young defenders I would snatch it up. Imagine trading with the Jets and getting their young CB Gardener and some picks.

I still think Carr is more likely to be a deal like the Wentz trade last year - don't think we get a 1.

Now hearing (si also reported) the commanders #1 target is Carr. So wehave strong interest from 2 teams. This is going to get good.

There are still tons of people who believe in Derek, and it only takes one that works for an NFL team.

I thought the benching would be the best news I would here about him but the possibility of trades is amazing. We only need one team to buy into “the Raiders are just being the Raiders”. Let’s all hope David Carrs tell all is believable enough for some GM/HC.

Or like taking back a player that has some guaranteed money to offset the acquiring team's cap hit from Carr. It's not always as simple as a trade of a player for a pick.
Wouldn’t he have to agree to anything contract related or is that between the teams?
Every contract these days, other than really small deals, has language in it to allow the team to convert future salary to a signing bonus and all they have to do is notify the player. That's why the idea that players are "helping their team" by restructuring a deal is silly. The player wouldn't have been part of the decision, and he's just getting his money sooner.

It was good enough to be rid of him. Eating the $5 million was a tiny price to pay. But now there's a realistic possibility that we could get a decently high draft pick for him?
This is like one of those old gameshows where they roll out a prize, and then the announcer says, "But wait, there's more!"

What’s the first day we can cut carr? I say cut him and don’t risk a trade that can go bad.

The blowback against the team that backed out would be severe.
