Who's Derik?

Maybe I could have thanked Derek for his service had he not been a dick the way he handled his demotion and abandoned his teammates.

:wind:
I'm sorry. I've been watching the Raiders since Jim Plunkett was our Quarterback. I know Carr hasn't been great. I do believe however that he put everything into the Raiders. He was never our best quarterback, but he always loved being a Raider. I dont know how many coaches he's gone through, but I believe it's plenty. I just wish the best for him in his future. But to see all the hate for a player that gave his best is truly frustrating. You can say whatever tou want about Derek, but I'm satisfied that he gave it all he had..
I know you're a little drunk just by the way you spelled Derek. Not to mention a little sensitive but no thanks. SMH

If I’m the RaIders counsel in this case, I’d like to thank and excuse Mr. Carr. He’s dismissed.

He's like that worker that we all know, who's buried up the bosses ass while the rest of the employees slave away, do extra when required, do the job right for little or no extra gratitude and he goes around with his head up in the air thinking the place can't run without him and it's the good employees who leave due to the dysfunction.

I don't wish him an ill will I just want to move on from him and don't wish to see him around the Raiders organization anymore within any capacity

I know we didn't win much, but anything less than a SuperBowl means nothing anyhow.

I agree that this was likely never a SuperBowl team with or without Derek and we only missed our shot at 9 of those under Derek. We missed on the last over 30 though before him.

I don't regret that he was the QB that was here during that time, and I honestly keep trying to compare it to Schroeder who to me felt like he played forever also. This was rosy compared to the years of watching Schroeder.

The reality simply is that Derek needs too much around him. I think he hit a legitimate 11-13 QB rank in his time. That is an amazing accomplishment.

If he finds that magic system and magic coach and wins it all - Awesome. It simply is not here. For his cost, he would need to have played like a top 10 QB this year and prove that he is clutch in late season playoff implication level and cold weather games. Instead he fell to QB 18 or so and choked over 4 playoff hunt games and the worst when it was cold.

McDaniels is not truly the reason why he is gone imo. You can blame Mahommes, Allen, Jackson, and Burrows. The AFC is nuts and we have to get closer than Carr if we want our names in the hat. We are not a 40 million dollar warm weather QB away. We also have to realize that 3 of those QBs play in outdoor freezing stadiums in January.

It is business.

I thank Carr for his time and will always look back somewhat fondly honestly. I hated some of his flaws, but overall it could have been much worse. Like Ferrel, too much was asked of him.

It was the TebowMania level of fandom I hated. The lack of any accountability on Derek by his helicopter moms. That was the worst Raider experience I have, but it was not Carr's fault for that overall and I learned a ton debating with them.

Good luck Derek, once a Raider always a Raider. You earned your Shield and thank you.
Anyone who hates Carr takes this game way too seriously. Anyone who stops being a fan because he is gone also has issues. The bottom line is Mark and the GM do not want to go into each season scrapping for a WC playoff spot where 6 other teams need to win or lose to get a spot. Carr will never be on Herbert's or Mahomes' level, and that means it's time to go. This is a business, and the business statement is to win championships. I thank him for being a mostly classy Raider, but I am glad he is gone.
Very well stated and I agree.
Now that is a leader.

I did not miss watching our QB point fingers every time something went wrong. It is great to see a QB who holds himself accountable. You need that in the locker room and on the field.
Yes, definitely a breath of fresh air.

Derek Carr was drafted at the perfect time. For 12 years prior to Carr the Raiders were lucky not to shit themselves. Carr came in and played "good" and had the ability to use the Raiders past as a way to get the fans completely behind him. He said all the right things and played "good" and Raider Nation ate that shit like it was a dinner at the French Laundry.

Carr was a "good" QB, not great not bad. He showed equal moments of greatness and moments of UGH. He is by definition, middle of the road.

There is no worse place to be in sports than in purgatory. Its almost impossible to get out of that spot unless you either add a generational additional talent or blow up the team. Since Carr was the QB its hard to get another position to fill that void.

I don't know if Stidham is our future QB but I know we finally got off the insanity train by doing the same thing for 9 years expecting different results.
