I figured anyone writing "Carr will be back" (and there are several guys here who wrote that repeatedly) is actually a closet Carr fan.
Haha No. Just realistic.

Those of us that thought moving on was the right thing from 2018 forward, then seeing this team just keep throwing resources at him showed a pattern.

Hearing he was selected over Brady in '20 was the nail in the coffin for me.

I said he would be back next year as the team is scared to lose .500 seasons, and I dare you to find me saying I wanted him here past week 10 in 2018. Just critical thought, that thankfully was wrong.

I even understood keeping him here this last season. I never wanted it but we had ridiculous level weapons and needed someone to use them.

This was an unexpected blessing. We full screened the 'time to move on' press conference live out here. Sunday we celebrate even more.
And Jason Campbell who for all intents and purposes performed just as good as Carr IMO and he was constantly bitched about
Campbell was really coming into his own until he got belly flopped. Really feel like we were going to win the division that year.
And/Or he could say Heather made him retire. He can spin that forever, i.e., his wife and kids are more important to him than football; she demanded he retire or she would take jujitsu lessons; Heather is ready to be a pastor's wife, and so forth. I don't believe he has the will to start over on a new team, in a new system, with a new coach, living in a new home, proving himself to (hopefully) a new fan base. Standing in front of what would probably be a full church as the center of attention imparting his wisdom is maybe much more appealing to him. And televangelists make a ton of money. At least we won't have to wait five more years to find out.
That and when he shits the bed on another team all the past excuses lose credibility and he definitely doesn't want that.
nah, not at all. many were just giving up any kind of hope. After 30 some odd years, it just has become easier to assume the franchise cannot get out of its own way.'

the recent benching, while not conclusive, does provide some of us with a bit of hope
You do realize who this poster is, right? It's SFRF under a new name.
That and when he shits the bed on another team all the past excuses lose credibility and he definitely doesn't want that.
He might finally get a chance to bring all his friends to a team and win a SuperBowl like Brady did.

I still laugh remembering him say that. Just so much disrespect from someone who accomplished nothing, ever.

I also agree though, this is really a lose/lose situation for him. There are no Rams level teams left looking for a QB, and even if they were why would they want a 15-18 QB...

He will crash and burn so hard on the Jets. The Colts are going nowhere fast, even with Josh Allen and Derek is not that.

I just don't see any team besides maybe the 9ers that can hide his flaws, and I guarantee Shanahan knows he has multiple QBs better than Derek already signed.

This is a great story to tell in his sermons, 'forgetting about the vanity of chasing titles and accolades' and 'being a loyal Raider getting cast off' just lends itself well to what I am sure is an excellent Sunday morning speech.

I wish Derek luck and good fortune. He just was not good enough and that is not his fault. I blame Gruden for not seeing that, but he was a terrible evaluator of talent.
9 years? lol, I am thinking WAY beyond that:
With those you listed?

Jay Schroeder - no arguments there, eh was frustrating to watch

Todd Marinovich

Jeff Hostetler- actually has a SB win and ring, unlike Carr.

Jeff George - had one great season but a nut job between the ears.

Rick Mirer- Top 10 draft bust of all time, fortunately he was before he got to us.

Kerry Collins- was a decent QB, got saddled with the air coming out of the tires of the maxed out credit card Super Bowl team.

Andrew Walter- Bed and breakfast Offense did him no favors.

Josh McCown - no argument.

JaMarcus Russell - didnt want him from the get go, Okie did. Someone didnt put Al to bed before he watched the bowl game vs Notre Dame that year and the rest is history.

Terrelle Pryor- Shhh if you say his name twice more Random will appear!

The two you forgot?
Palmer- I'd take him over Carr.

Campbell- above even I'd say.

I don't know what Derek Carr will do next retire or play for another team. I enjoy watching revenge games, this season Russell Wilson and Bronocos vs the Seahawk. A few seasons ago Brady vs the Patriot was a great revenge game. I especially like revenge with extra sauce games, nothing compares to the Raiders vs fired Shanarat Broncos. The Raiders vs Derek Carr new team would be a interesting game to watch in my opinion especially if it was a raider home game.

Just been catching up as this thread is in the fast lane on the autobahn. Agreed with a good amount of what's been said here that i was thinking but don't have to say it again. I applaud you all who have gone and looked at the idiocy in multiple forms on twitter and other areas where completely insane people are losing there obviously very feeble minds over this benching of a 9 year loser, gutless, posing coward. Hearing about some of these other teams sites praying for him to be grabbed up by their teams, man that seems like too much to wish for. Could there be a team out there stupid enough to actually trade for that turd before the deadline and give the Raiders multiple high draft choices?!! Too much to believe in possibly happening. As long as there is no way in hell for them to back out and Raiders being stuck for that absurd $40m contract. Don't see this happening but with teams like jet fans going crazy at the thought...well just cut the poser and don't take any chances.

Also, I very much believe that a whole lot of people are going to be surprised at how well this team will play with Stidham at QB. very unfortunate to have to be against two of the best teams in the league right now, but I still believe that the offense will look better. As someone said earlier, with Stidham at QB from the start of this season, the Raiders would be a playoff team without help.

Derek Carr will always be my most frustrating player for the Raiders. He has the tools and can be elite at times. However, he has a character flaw that wipes out all of his skills and that he is petrified playing in the NFL and getting hit.

This years training camp has proved it. When New England was visiting Carr destroyed the Patriots to the point Patriots pundits and fans were crucifying Belicheck. When Carr knows he can't get hit he is elite, but once that red jersey comes off he is mentally checked out and his mechanics go to shit and it has gotten worse this year.

Also, this year he does not grasp this offense at all. Even when he has time to throw he looks lost and never throws the ball with any conviction. Every throw looks like he is second guessing his decision mid throw.

He's mentally weak and no matter how many times he does a press conference in a 2 size too small shirt with the sleeves cut off to show his "guns" it can't bring him real toughness.

Carr Sux Ballz, always has, always will...Biggest Pussy To Ever Play QB In The NFL
You can think Raiders may bring him back and still not like Derek Carr. These are two very different things so people need to read full sentences. Carr sucks balls is ending in 2022.
