Since this went away from Crosby, I can venture that getting Hendrickson does not make sense for Hendrickson. And no, it is not about the money, it is about the pursuit of a ring. And it does not make sense for the Raiders to kick in a ton of money for Hendrickson since they need to kick in a ton of money for the Oline. It is not in our best interest to spend on a piece just because we can. It is all about spending on pieces to keep Mendoza upright. This is a deep draft for edge's and dline. Spend draft capital on pieces to complement Mendoza, spend free agency money on experienced linemen to protect Mendoza and break open holes for Jeanty.

Obviously, Im assuming he passes his physical. The net result is not Crosby for Hendrikson. The reported offer Hendrikson is seeking is about 33-35 million X 3 years. The net result of the parlay is Crosby and our end of 4th round comp pick for Hendrikson and 2-1sts at a cost of 3-5 million less cap space per year for three years and an additional one time dead cap hit of 5 million this year. The money difference(14 -20 million $ total) is insignificant compared to the value of the picks, and furthermore Hendrikson is an elite pass rusher who was registering >17 sacks/year when healthy or less than 2 million$/sack. Crosby has been good for 10-12/year or 2.5-3 million$/sack. This idea makes a great deal of sense if Hendrikson is healthy. As No Thanks said, if there is a young elite pass rusher willing to come here, by all means sign him instead. But if there isnt, then Hendrikson, as a stop gap, would allow us to kick the can down the road when we have to draft Crosby's replacement until 2028. Not losing that edge rushing net talent might even allow us to compete for a playoff spot this year, depending on how well those 4 top picks do and how successful we are in FA.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:21 am So get rid of Maxx because he is too old for a rebuild and give more money to an older player who missed 10 games last season to back and hip injuries?
If we trade Maxx just get younger and build this the right way.

The money is basically a wash. The salary relief covers about 90% of what Hendrikson would cost and he is a better pass rusher. I think this team has buzz now, so we shouldnt assume he wont consider us. If Hendrikson doesnt want to come here, Spytek should make him say that. But from whats been reported, the security is what Hendrikson is said to be prioritizing. With the 2 additional picks you are getting, especially if that supposed offer from the Cowboys (12, 20 and a player) is true, you can draft Ioane, a ROT and a DT all before the 3rd round, even if it winds up costing a 4th round pick to move up to get Ioane.Attyla wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 11:12 am Since this went away from Crosby, I can venture that getting Hendrickson does not make sense for Hendrickson. A master stroke would be to outbid them for him, and force Crosby's trade value up.

I just do not think it makes sense for Hendrickson. He is loaded and is going to be paid. If I am him, I want to get paid and also play for a contender like the Rams who are in serious win now mode. Seahawks are another team that could use his services. Patriots are another. All three have great cap space to make it work. Why get paid and not have a shot at the ring when you can get paid and be a contender?Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 11:32 am The money is basically a wash. Here's the simple thought process and it does carry logic with it. This doesn't mean I'm pro or anti Maxx. How I look at it, if we get very solid compensation for Maxx it's a wash to me and we won't really know for probably a couple of years when we look back.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:21 am So get rid of Maxx because he is too old for a rebuild and give more money to an older player who missed 10 games last season to back and hip injuries?

For Max we get 2 high picks + maybe a player for him. The two picks are the youth movement.
We get his replacement in FA for no picks, but cap money at a bit more than what Maxx costs.
How you wrote it, it would seem like were doing a 1:1 trade between those players, yes that would be dumb.
Now I know you know better than that, but that is how you wrote it.

Lol....Hendrickson was tired of Cincinnati's shit & losing there. He's definitely not going to come here & do more of the same. Some of these takes are whackyCruisin with Tooz wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 9:54 am If they get 12 and 20, you have to be taking Ioane at 20. With 12 and 37 go DT and ROT. In FA get a C, LB, FS. I would use Crosby's money on Hendrikson to give a 3-year fix there that would kick the can down the road to the 2028 or 2029 draft. You would have to pay him 10-15% more, but the guy delivers 50% more sacks than Crosby, so based on past performance, it would be worth it. That still leaves us with 7 more picks including top of the 3rd and 4th round and the Jags 4th also.

He's been pretty spot on on things in the past. Not saying he's right on this, but he's definitely got some legit connections

Hendrikson was tired of not getting paid. He was negotiating with them for a LTD, so he wasnt that tired of losing there. But, as his agent, if he told you he wont come here, then we shouldnt try.Hellbound wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 12:01 pm Lol....Hendrickson was tired of Cincinnati's shit & losing there. Trade Maxx, don’t sign Hendrickson — just slide Tyree Wilson into the starting LDE position. Wait a second…
