And now we can look forward to Carr's fans showing up to crow if Stidham doesn't play well. Of course they'll be missing the entire point and responding to arguments that have never been made, but that's never stopped them before lmfao.
You care far to much about such things......

They should not have allowed him to "leave" for the next 2 games. They should have made him sit on the bench with his team. There would have been no distraction at all. SMH
Well, so McDaniels will spin the story he needs "his" QB to make this a playoff team. Whatever. Stidham is obviously not it, just a guy who needs to play two games in a lost season. Let's see if we can trade Carr to Jets since he's gone in McDaniels' eyes. The next QB who will lead Raiders to the playoffs is not on the roster and heaven forbids if Stidham is even considered a starter for 2023.
I'm pretty sure that Stidham was attractive to McD as a back up due to being familiar with his offence, and having been available.

SMH
So he can slip and fall off the bench, then say "I hurt my back on the sidelines!", thus activating his $40 million injury guarantee?
No thanks.
No thanks.
You care far to much about such things......
Dude, for 8 years we have had a steady swarm of player fans who would take a holiday every time he had a bad game only to see them surge onto the site every time he had a 4th quarter come back. Now, I know the same is true for the opposite group but every year when the notion of him being benched/traded/cut was bandied about those same player fans would die on that hill. Even as recently as two days ago we were being told we would eat our tongue and bow at the alter to Derek Carr because he would be back. Those same fans, minus two most notable exceptions are now MIA. I am about to put faces on milk cartons.
So it is pretty understandable that we should care a bit about this almost cult like group of player fans. They make ProBowlStu look like a disinterested observer.
Carr was a 2nd round pick in 2014 and in hindsight and looking at who was drafted before him you can say he is the best. If he was a #1 pick nobody would have him in the hot seat.
I've seen posts stating that Adams is gone, Jacobs is gone, McDaniels lost the team with this move etc, etc. Here's an angle to think about, what if the other players fully back this move? What if they were tired of his shitty play and saw through his fake emotions at the press conferences? No one knoes for sure what it's like in the locker room but from their full interviews Jacobs and Waller didn't seem to be that upset about the decision. The move may have come as kind of a surprise to us( not sure anyone thought he'd actually be benched) BUT there's things that could've been brewing in the locker room. I know it's blashpemy to a few on this board but maybe a majority of the roster/staff were finally fed up with his pathetic play and attitude
What IF Mark and Josh are just doing this as a decoy but Carr is really going to start.

As a result, these two extremes of Raider fandom have dominated many threads and driven many less polarized posters from the board. Hopefully those posters will trickle back and make this place a little more balanced in the future.

Honestly, does it even matter who, what, where, and how DC is gone. I think most of this board did not expect this to happen. I find this as not only great news, but exciting as well. We were not going anywhere. It is time to change things up. Raiders fans have suffered more than almost any fan base. We need a few breaks. We just got our first. I am still scared as hell about Josh and Z, but we just busted thru our first obstacle/roadblock.

Bittersweet ending, always wanted to see Carr succeed. Just was never consistent enough to see that through. Don't see any chance he comes back next year. Wish 2016 was the standard and not the mirage.

Wish 2016 was the standard and not the mirage.
honestly, I was pulling for Derek well into 2017. Hell, I held out hope that he could turn on the jets into 2018. Jack lost the team, Gruden never entered the 21st century and then he divebombed this year. That does not mean I did not go into every game wanting a win and hoping he could do it. Sure, they never gave him a defense and that will be what many hang their hats on. And there is some legitimacy to that but you work with the tools you got. Gruden trading away a couple good players did not help. Jack going ultra conservative did not help in 2017.
But eventually every player is deemed unfit to carry on with a team. We look to be at that point.
For me the Paul Gutierrez quote is a load of shit. It's a moronic thought that doesn't recognize how sick many Raider fans were of Carrstans. Nobody on this forum said the defense was any good. He's not been blamed for everything, that's a flat out lie.
I have been blaming Carr for being Carr and countering Stan bullshit.
You should change your username to Don Quixote.
