I said in Oct, I thought this was the plan the whole time. Put carr in situations where he is not cofortable, show his shortcomings point blank. If carr had played really well in those situations the outcome may have been different, but Carr didnt have the tools in his toolbox to do it.
This is the best thing for this team moving forward. I think it was the plan for the season, and I think they have big plans moving forward. Im excited to see what happens
The Carr culture calls what you described as "losing on purpose. "
Not a Carr hater but I can’t say I’m disappointed. Just the idea of seeing someone new makes me happy. Sure I don’t know if the next guy will fail or succeed but the Carr era had gotten to the point where every week I was pretty positive we would lose. That’s no fun when you have been a fan your entire life. Next chapter starts now and that’s exciting.
That's what it was for me too. Watching a Carr led Raiders team was just not fun to watch. In fact, I purposely didn't watch a few games this year.
I have renewed hope for the future.

Your right because McBum and Bowl Cut lost the team.

Only thing that is changed is by how much we are going to lose now. We weren't winning before with Carr, we aren't (likely) to win with Stidham.

Basically this loss will be this season down like the lame horse it is.

I've seen posts stating that Adams is gone, Jacobs is gone, McDaniels lost the team with this move etc, etc. Here's an angle to think about, what if the other players fully back this move? What if they were tired of his shitty play and saw through his fake emotions at the press conferences? No one knoes for sure what it's like in the locker room but from their full interviews Jacobs and Waller didn't seem to be that upset about the decision. The move may have come as kind of a surprise to us( not sure anyone thought he'd actually be benched) BUT there's things that could've been brewing in the locker room. I know it's blashpemy to a few on this board but maybe a majority of the roster/staff were finally fed up with his pathetic play and attitude

Its been this weird see saw or wanting wins but at the same time realizing the wins we did get each season actually left us mired in mediocrity: never truly horrible, never truly good, just average or slightly worse.

Stidham could get killed, we might get blown out by 40 points, you name it. But for the first time in a long time I at least can accept the fact that there might be a possibility that we have a chance as opposed to none.

And to build off my last thought I don't know why but I keep coming back to the ending of the movie, Full Metal Jacket in thinking about the last five years of being a Raiders fan, likely the duality of it, the contradictory feelings, the push pull of.

Suffice to say the last 24 hours has been weird.

Ding dong the bitch is gone, and maybe Mark isn't as stupid as I thought.

Weird indeed.

We will never know what was said behind closed doors. At the end of the day, players know this is a business and this could easily happen to them as well. I think when Carr called out team mates, this did not sit well with some (understandable), and that was the beginning of the end of him.
And now we can look forward to Carr's fans showing up to crow if Stidham doesn't play well. Of course they'll be missing the entire point and responding to arguments that have never been made, but that's never stopped them before lmfao.
In reality, i wouldn't expect either one of them to play well in the next game, but i'm pretty sure we know what we would have seem with Carr, (feeble and overwhelmed) so hopefully Stidmam gets enough up to speed to just be solid, under the circumstances.
