I agree. Coaches will have to believe in the potential of increased stability with Davis saying he's stepping aside and that it's Spytek/Brady making the decision and letting it run its course.raiders93 wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 7:18 pm To me, our issue is likely a reputational problem with Mark. We’re pitching a multi-year rebuild with an owner that doesn’t appear to have much patience for it. You might feel great about what you could do with this team over a few years. But if you don’t feel great about what you can do year 1… you’re really taking a risk with Mark.
I gotta think that’s a big part of the calculation here: coaches just avoiding the uncertainty of working for Mark.

I'm in the minority of fans, but I want nothing to do with Webb or Scheelhaase. Webb has only been in the NFL for 3 year (Scheelhaase 2), and have no coaching experience above position coach. I just don't trust that level of experience to not only run an NFL roster but turn around a dysfunctional organization. They could be the greatest players coach ever, but there's so much more they would be in charge of that they would be blindly delegating too without any idea of how a successful department is supposed to work. Give me Kubiak, I could find myself hopeful for Lafluer too.

The Bills' search is gonna be interesting. Josh Allen obviously makes it an attractive destination, but Beane and Pegula are working hard to make it less attractive.
Plus they won't be allowed to interview any of the coaches whose teams go on to the SB until after the SB, while teams who have already conducted virtual interviews can do second interviews with those coaches next week.

So what is the true story. Coleman was a head scratcher for sure. GM should have been gone also.chucker wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:33 am The Bills' search is gonna be interesting. I tend to agree with you. I was adamant in my opposition to Pierce's hire on the premise that the position coach -> HC jump typically doesn't work. We have this very recent example of it not working, I really don't think we should take another gamble like that with a rookie QB.BotesBoats wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:33 am I'm in the minority of fans, but I want nothing to do with Webb or Scheelhaase. I thought all coaches could be interviewed as soon as the Championship games have been played? Last year Kellen Moore was announced as the New Orleans Head Coach prior to the Super Bowl.

I don't know what the true story is. I also know that the draft is an inexact process. But vocally saying "I didn't want this player who we drafted and who is still on our roster" is a ridiculously ill-advised and unprofessional approach and it's not going to help build unity in the building. And, if you've seen your rookie and he was a disappointment, does that mean you shouldn't try to add more resources for your elite QB the next offseason? Or at the trade deadline (Jakobi Meyers).Raidernation1979 wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:46 am So what is the true story. Coleman was a head scratcher for sure. GM should have been gone also.

Sorry if that read wrong. I was asking what’s the whole story in reference to what the tweet said. I didn’t expect you to know it. But yes, you should always support publicly and argue in private. That’s just a general life lesson.chucker wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:53 am I don't know what the true story is. I also know that the draft is an inexact process. Yep. These are two guys I’ve been pining for going back to last season. I would be happy with either.Goodtimes333 wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 11:36 pm Kubiak and Minter are my top two as far as hopes for the team. I don't know enough about Davis Webb either way to form a proper opinion.

Ravens and Bills both very high on Webb. We might not even get the chance...

Buffalo looked like the easy choice to make a move for Meyers, and they could have gotten it done if they had wanted. And yes, keep the family business within the family, anything else is a professional betrayal in my opinion.chucker wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:53 am I don't know what the true story is.
