We control our destiny. That being said, many of these football publications have conflicting SOS numbers. I guess the best one to go with is the one from the NFL.

These numbers conflict with sources like Tankathon and Sharp.

I think the Chiefs rise up and beat us because: Andy Reid would like nothing better than beating us using a 3rd string QB -- by virtue of his better game planning/coaching. One problem is the 3rd stringer, Chris Oladokun is only 6'1" and we all know he is 3 inches short of being able to be a good NFL QB. I worry about the Giants game more because they have something to play for -- a better draft position.
Both are home games but that is not a problem. The financial plan Doofus achieved by moving the team works every time -- the foreign fans come to Vegas in droves.
No. Reid is smart enough to know that the better way to f[raiders_icon]ck the Raiders would be to let them win so we shoot further down the draft board.

We might get the first pick, but only if he turns out to be a bust while whoever is taken at 7 becomes a HOFer. That’s just the way it is.

I was not down with most of what happened this past off season
I was referring to myself, lol. I was convinced Pete Carroll was going to be the one to turn it all around.

One source of difference might be the denominator they are using. Are they using the year end denominator of 289 or the current week ending denominator of 255? Another reason for difference would be if one source is incorporating the effect of games yet to be played where the effect on SOS is the same regardless of which team wins, and the other source is only using current standings.

This is true, but the Giants destiny control is better than our destiny control. In that game, we cant make them score points if they dont want to, and they cant make us score points if we dont want to. And a 0-0 final is a win for them. Maybe Jeanty will have to take a handoff on Nyg 20 yard line and run backwards 81 yards to force NYG to score.

I've started to look at some 2nd tier QBs and was wondering everyone's thoughts if we end up outside the Mendoza line and was curious as to Garrett Nussmeier.? I don't follow college but start looking at the players during mock season.

Most likely wasted picks. Nothing but a bunch of Aidan O'Connells imo. It's Mendoza or bust. Moore would not be a good consolation prize but probably one I'd have to live with. Miss out on them, it's Mac Jones or Tanner McKee for me. That's it. They would be the only 4 options to keep me somewhat invested next year.
For me it's:
Mendoza
Moore
McKee
Mac Jones

Moore is a really good prospect too. Mendoza is my #1 but both are superior prospects to Cam Ward and could be the one.

My issue with Moore isn't even so much with Moore himself. It's that I don't trust this team to unlock his full potential being that he is more of an upside guy IMO.

With any luck, we'll all have a better picture in a couple more weeks, once the season ends. My hope is Spytek is the GM and is searching for the next Raiders coach meaning Carroll has moved on. Saleh would be my choice of experienced coaches. Not sure of college and/or coordinators. Someone "young" that can advance improve the team each year starting in year 1. We'll also know The Raiders actual draft spot.

If we lose to the Giants then we leapfrog them and we're picking #1. We would control our draft destiny. This is a big game.
Maybe they'll flex it.
Its the Irrelevant Superbowl!
For all the marbles

not sure that raiders are going to get that #1 overall...time to plan for QB option #2. [NFL would have no problems with a Fernando Mendoza Heisman winner playing in the biggest NFL market next year. Think Jets though, not Giants].
I'm not sold on Moore, but he is the best option if raiders pick #2 overall.
if raiders are pick #3 or lower, not a fan of trading up - the past few drafts have set a precedent as far as how much draft capital has to be given up just to move up a spot or two. this team roster is threadbare, if anything, need more picks to start this rebuild, not less...at that point, i'm solidly on the 'best offensive lineman, period' camp.

Gonna be plenty of fodder for the "does tanking exist?" discussion before, after, and during these next couple of games. As with everything else, they will probably wind up being a Rorschach that either opinion can find examples to justify their stance.

Just draft a QB. I don't even care who anymore. Every year it's the same f[raiders_icon]cking bullshit with this team. This guy, that guy, tank, win...... f[raiders_icon]ck it! Just draft smart for a change. I'm positive we will be upset with how the draft goes.... again. Why the f[raiders_icon]ck would anything change now?
