Chandler Jones contract and giving Carr a no trade clause are both biting or going to bite us in the ass.
That’s on Ziegs
Jones has been solid to even good or better for several weeks until the injury. I grant it was looking bleak for a bit but he too has come on quite a bit.
There is risk going for someone that old but I think the acquisition was reasonable.

I have no idea why we are discussing Minchew as a starting qb of this team. Has Mcd or zig ever hinted in the slightest that they have any interest at all in minchew?
If you get rid of carr, you do it to get Brady, Rodgers, or to draft a guy high, but bringing in Minchew? Makes no sense at all to me. You are going to hang your next season and reputation on minshew? Sorry I dont see it. You either get an elite level guy, or you keep stidham and let him play until a rook is ready. No dalton, no foles, no zach wilson , no minchew.
I need you guys to focus lol dont put any damn minchew vibes in to the universe, we have enough curses to deal with.

Nobody thinks Minshew is a long term answer. It's a stop gap to play while a rookie gets ready. Rodgers has zero chance of playing here with that contract. That is a level of stupid that left with Al. We would have to cut talent when we need to add pieces

That’s on Ziegs
Someone needs to convince Jones to retire. His recent success less the TD is the result of better interior line play and him being gifted stats because the QB moved towards his area.

I’m sorry - a stop gap while we draft who?
That sounds like a rebuild.
We’re not doing that. We are in win now mode, so if we can’t win with Carr, you find a QB that you can with
Not a guy to waste years with on a QB that no one has identified yet.
Your stop gap is Carr. Who’s 10 million dollars per year less than all the QBs that would be an upgrade.

I understand the bridge principle, but nowadays the rooks play pretty quick.I know Mahomes sat for a year, but that is not the norm.
If we don’t go Brady or Rodgers,I don’t want to spend much on a bridge QB that is only going to play a few games.
I’m wondering if Stidham could function as the bridge or a Mac Jones who is cheap also.

why would we be in win now mode when we need to fix a defense that has a lot of personnel that does not match the system? Why are we in win now mode when many of our offensive pieces are either just in their prime or not yet in their prime. Why would we be in win now mode when we are not even coming close to winning now?

Why sign adams, extend Waller, extend Crosby, extend Carr if it’s not win now?

This build sucks ass.
No quarterback, little speed on either side of the ball, dicey O line, no corners, no linebackers, no coverage safeties, little interior D line, no depth anywhere, and all the targets work the same area of the field.

A lot of posters here are going to be punching air and breaking their TVs when Carr is our starting QB in 2023.
Now, if they aren't an 11-12 win team in the next 2 seasons.... then they can split up the gang and trade Carr, Waller, Renfrow, etc. and rebuild.
