Just watching Baker Mayfield run one of the NFL's more complicated offenses and putting up 17 points against a good Denver defense in the first quarter (and now 24 total 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter). He's not making HOF level plays, but what he is able to do is successfully get the ball into the hands of his playmakers on a consistent basis.
I think he and Minshew should be our top two FA targets this offseason.
As for Love, he's now about where he should be had he been drafted where he should've been. He was never worthy of a first round pick, but now has been in the league a couple of years, got some experience and familiarity, and should soon be ready to start somewhere. And this is how it should be. Regardless of Mahomes, Burrow, and Allen, the reality remains the same that most rookies aren't ready to play at a high level right away.
I'd rather get a competent vet, develop a grinding run game, and finally------f[raiders_icon]cking finally build a great defense.

Not rocket science. We can revisit the 80% in February. If he is back, you might disappear like a fart in the wind. If he is not, just remember 80% is not 100%.
Just cut him after the final game of the year. No need to wait till after the Superbowl.
Would we have to Bench him .... to keep him safe from an injury settlement?
(if the contract is guaranteed for injury?)
Its about that "bone break" time of the season ....

Nice two way out. Betting both sides is a strategy for some. I'm 100% in that Carr will be 86ed, so yeah, let's put this one up on the wall.

People have been predicting every year that Carr is toast but he keeps returning. I would move on but the guy who keeps him around has been pretty predictable so far. Talk again in February....or not. LOL

I hadn't thought of the gauranteed for injury part of the contract. I think you guys may have a point about sitting him.
Would really suck to be looking to move on and then still have to pay him because he's injured.

Reddit is crazy. They are blaming McDaniels for “regressing” all the progress Carr made under Gruden.
