Please don't misunderstand me.
I am all in on replacing Carr.
Enough is enough.
Though I feel there's so many deficiencies on this team to the point most QBs would fail, I'm ready to fail with another QB.
DT and interior oline played poorly this week. Thats all I'm saying. Not deflecting or anything.
He may have a difficult time winning games with our defense (4 of the last 5 games though, they held teams to 17 or less, so maybe not), however the offense is ready to go and could not be more primed for success.
You should look at advanced offensive line ranks and charts, honestly Carr has been given (before this previous game with two replacement guards) the 4th longest time to throw of any QB in the NFL from what I saw. They will likely keep improving it also to add depth so injured guards are not so rough on us.
We have Jacobs back (Hopefully) who is simply the best running back in the NFL this year, Third and Renfrow, Adam's the best 50/50 receiver in the NFL, and one or both of Waller/Moreau. I would keep Hollins and Cole also, no question.
The offense has never been better for future prospects or for enticing over a veteran. I would argue it is the best possible situation in the NFL for teams looking to replace their QB.
I still think Carr is back and on his existing contract next year, I hate it, but you just can't ask for more if they did move on imo.
Year after year, Carr has played just well enough to save his career and stick with the Raiders, but not good enough for the team to win anything substantial.
I have a sick feeling that at the end of this season....this trend will only continue.
The Raiders are in purgatory.
It will be a long, long, long time before the Raiders are serious contenders, let alone Super Bowl champions.
The Raiders have become an organization afraid of making bold moves, limited to playing it safe, so they can hold onto that cherished quality of being average.
Just be average, baby.
P.S. It is so sad watching a once great organization wallow away in satisfaction of bland average play at the most important position in football. And watching a good portion of the fan base eating it up like it is glorious.
IMO McDaniels wouldn’t have taken the job if he was forced to retain the QB
Maybe both the Coach and GM thought Carr with Adams was salvageable but it’s evident he is not.
if Carr returns next July there is and will be no hope for this organization, Coach and the fans

Yes I know this is framed as Tafur’s “opinion” but it was reported by more than one source, it was reported Davis wanted Carr in the draft, only Davis has been the other mainstay besides Carr year in and out which constantly saw Davis’ support of Carr as the Raiders QB. Hopefully that ends after this season. Before Raiders’ owner Mark Davis decides on his next head coach and general manager, it sounds like he’s going to do a little general manager work of his own.
According to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, there is an expectation that Davis will make a decision on Derek Carr’s future with the Raiders prior to choosing his next head coach.
“I think Mark Davis will make a decision [on Carr] and then go into the search with that in mind,” Tafur said this week on the State of the Nation podcast. “I just don’t know if he’s going to rely on a new coach to influence him giving Carr a $180 million extension or whatever it’s going to cost to keep him past this year.”
“I am of the belief that Mark Davis will make a decision,” Tafur continued. “He hired the last two coaches basically and he’ll hire this one so I think he’ll use whatever he has decided on Derek to kind of frame who he wants to bring in. I’m sure he’ll listen to ideas and he’ll be open to some things, but I think his mind will pretty much be made up as far a quarterback before the coaching search really gets going.”
Some might not like the idea of Davis making the call on Carr, but since he’s the one writing the checks, Davis probably figures he may as well be the one making the decision.
It also feels like it’s only a matter of time before Davis becomes a little more like his father and meddles in football operations more than he has in the past. Or if he is the one who will make the decision on Carr, maybe we’re already there.
Raiders have lost once in the last 2 seasons when scoring 24+ points
To be fair 24 points is alot to ask of a QB who sucks in the redzone. Until our GM can find an elite kicker how can we expect to score that much?
Josh Allen and another qb recently forget who in interviews mentioned the team needing a spark and doing something to provide it. We don’t have that.
If anything we have a spark arrestor
Yup, our QB talks about how he needs to be able to hold his kids and and how hard it is to get through practice. And the infamous “football being way down here in his priorities”. Some just refuse to be wrong, so they pretend it doesn’t exist and ignore those posts. Those

Think Kirk Cousins and the Vikings...
-They have a new HC this season we have an new HC
-They have a great WR in Jefferson we have one in Adams
-There offense ranks #13 ours #11
-There passing offense is #7 ours is #13
-There rushing offense is #28 ours is #13
-There defense ranks #32 we sit at #24
-There pass defense ranks #31 ours #26
-There rush defense ranks #18 ours #15
As you can see despite us beating them statistically in every category but one (surprise, surprise, passing offense) they have a 10-3 record and we have a 6-8. Yes, they have an easier division but they have also beat the likes of the Bills, Dolphins, Commanders, Jets and a formidable Lions team once this year.
They have also beaten the Patriots and taken care of teams that they should have beaten in the Saints, Colts and Cardinals. 3 teams we lost too. We have beaten the Texans, Broncos twice, Seahawks, Chargers and Patriots.
Against the saints both games played in New Orleans...
Carr 15/26 101 yards passing, 0 TD's 1 INT sacked 3 times and couldn't get the team past the 50 yard line. But Stidham did. Final Score 24-0
Cousins 25/38 273 yards passing, 1 TD 1 INT sacked 3 times final score 28-25
I'll let McD/Z and everyone else be the judge.

Cousins led his team back down 33-0 and they won… does anyone honestly believe Carr could pull that off?
And yet his 21.6 ppg since he joined the league is ranked 31st out of 37 QBs with over 50 starts since '14.
31st out of 37...
Garbage.
