Today's "news" in a nutshell:

1. Kirk Cousins has been named the starter for the Miami game. If this surprises you, you haven't been paying attention.
2. Jeanty is optimistically expected to play on Week 1. Fingers crossed.
3. Keyron Crawford has a season-ending Achilles injury. :cuss:
4. Coaching staff leans on TB for lots of things.

Has anyone talked to washington about this number?

If he still wants to wear it then we need to bring in a voodoo witch doctor to remove the evil that cursed this number

Think it was his college number.

Washington is perfect in #4.

I know some here don't care about numbers, but IMO our backfield tandem has far more swagger wearing #2 and #4.

These two are going to carve up defenses

I'll be honest, as of this moment in the new season Ty Simpson looks like the most NFL ready rookie QB, the rookie QB from Arizona also. Mendoza isnt NFL ready yet, but his game seems more cerebral than instinct. So maybe we got ourselves another Peyton Manning here, or maybe not. I am a little disappointed in his performance so far, but he still has a lot of potential once he gets comfortable. Also I had high hopes because of all these high end QB gurus we brought in for the offensive side of the ball, so far with Mendoza it hasnt made him shine yet.

Thank you for being honest. Does this mean most of the other times you post something youre being dishonest?

In case you were wondering...

Win-loss record of QBs selected number one since 2016:

Cam Ward (2025, Titans): Finished his rookie year with a 3-14 record.

Edit Caleb Williams (2024, Chicago Bears): Finished his rookie year with a 5-12 record.

Bryce Young (2023, Carolina Panthers): Finished his rookie year with a 2–14 record in 16 starts.

Trevor Lawrence (2021, Jacksonville Jaguars): Finished his rookie year with a 3–14 record in 17 starts.

Joe Burrow (2020, Cincinnati Bengals): Finished his rookie year with a 2–7–1 record before suffering a season-ending knee injury in 10 games.

Kyler Murray (2019, Arizona Cardinals): Finished his rookie year with a 5–10–1 record in 16 starts.

Baker Mayfield (2018, Cleveland Browns): Finished his rookie year with a 7–7 record (6–7 as a starter) in 14 total appearances.

Jared Goff (2016, Los Angeles Rams): Finished his rookie year with a 0–7 record in 7 starts. First start on Nov 15 after sitting behind Case Keenum.

All talented, successful college QBs, pretty much the same result for all with the small exception for Caleb Williams who had a winning record by one game and Baker who went 50-50 (if you include a game he did not start, but did finish). FM has the good fortune to have a coach with a plan and the right people in place to mentor him. Fingers crossed, the plan will work.

Defenses ‘bout to take a 2x4 upside the head?
Time two f[raiders_icon]ck some defenses, no fourplay?
Bring’n two kinds of pain and misery four the opposition?
Two-steppin’ and fourk’n dem fools?
2 two tango, 4 on the floor?

Last, but not least…

”The Lumberyard”
”Layin’ the Wood”

One thing is certain, the "disappointment" already, and lack of patience and perspective in this forum is astounding and only going to get worse. Its already f[raiders_icon]cking insufferable and we haven't played one real game. Think how bad it's going to get. And unlike the Raiders, they deserve no patience because they will never get better. After 1, 2 games its going to be "fire Rob Leonard!" type stupid. We lost, were 1-3, fire everyone! Kubiak is overrated! Mendoza is a bust! another terrible draft! any and all dumb shlt you can think of will be written here before September is done.
Prepare for it. Count on it. See if you can weather it, and if the good and not terrible content is still worth coming here for. The way its trending I am not optimistic it will be.
But I am very optimistic about the direction of this franchise. And patient.
