Sports radio here was talking about Barmore and the Pats 1st and 2nd for Max. I know a sports publication (I do not remember which one) proposed this trade a while back. I think thats about as good of a trade as we can get and TBH, I would not hate it. Barmore is younger than Max and plays a more difficult position to fill (DT). He was a STUD than had a blood clot (and missed most of the season). When he came back, the Pats switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4 which I think hurt him somewhat.

By the way, the cap cost of Maxx to a team that trades for him is easy to reduce after the trade with a simple restructure. They would need about $31 million available at the time of the trade becoming official, but could reduce his 2026 cap hit to about $7 million with a stroke of a pen. That is part of his appeal as a trade candidate to teams - he has 4 years left at a very reasonable rate.

I bet that is a fairly big part for GM's and different from a lot of other blockbuster trades where you are going to get the player and then have to immediately make a new contract for top dollar. Not that he's cheap, but somehow reasonable.

He's a lot cheaper, in cash and cap, than Micah Parsons was.

Some of us just want him gone for the long term benefit of the team and couldn't give two shits about stuff like this.
