Because he has no hype. Why would you draft someone in the top 5-10 if you know he will be there later? Most NFL teams don't need a QB so he will make it to the second round at least. If you can get Greene and Jordan Tyson, you do it.

PC will be fired during the season next year if he has Geno as his QB. If he wants a way out of this organization, that will do it.

You dont know he’ll there later you draft your guy when you have the chance

Green is a mid round prospect right now for a reason he panics under pressure, his completion percentage is wildly inconsistent, doesn't throw with touch & is a one read QB

If we’re drafting mid round prospects to start we’re cooked next year as well.

Him not being talked about as a top prospect has nothing to with him having no hype it is all to do with major flaws in his game he needs to correct

Contradiction.
his completion percentage is wildly inconsistent
Mid-sixties on a bad team.
doesn't throw with touch
He thew a 40 air-yard bomb while getting hit that was right in the receivers' hands with the game on the line. The WR dropped it.
is a one read QB
You just described most QBs in the NFL.

You know who's not a one-read QB? Aidan O'Connell. You know, the guy that everyone hates on even though he took a 2-win team to one game out of a playoff berth.
If we’re drafting mid round prospects to start we’re cooked next year as well.
Any QB we draft is sitting so getting a mid-round project that can sit for a year is a smart move.
Him not being talked about as a top prospect has nothing to with him having no hype it is all to do with major flaws in his game he needs to correct
It's hype. All the QB's you guys hype up on this forum have major flaws they need to correct.

Also, you draft Jordan Tyson because if Bowers gets hurt again next year our offense won't be completely neutered.

That’s not a contradiction if you think Green is not gonna be there mid round 3rd or 4th you take him earlier if you think he is the guy

Going from 70% one game to 40% in another is the very definition of wildly inconsistent, this is the same knock on Sellers the talent is there but they need more seasoning

Once again we keep telling you this that one example of something is not proof that it is true the kid struggles with touch

The knock on O’Connell is he is a statue in the pocket if he had even average mobility he’d be a solid QB but he isn’t

No it is not hype some prospect do things at an elite level, some have elite measurables or intangibles & others have legit issues you need to figure out if they are coachable

Green is a fine mid round guy but the chances of him being a starting QB getting drafted there (even sitting a year) are substantially low

I’d be more than happy drafting a 1st round QB & taking Green mid rounds to hedge our bets

I do think he will be there. So again, a mid-round steal.

That's what the law of averages is. He averages mid-sixties, which is decent. That example you gave is irrelevant because we have multiple seasons for a sample size. That erases any outlier outcomes.
Once again we keep telling you this that one example of something is not proof that it is true the kid struggles with touch
It actually is. 90 percent of QB's can't make that throw. That's like saying running a 4.2 forty isn't an example of speed because he only does it at the combine. Those are perfect examples that show what you are getting with this player.
The knock on O’Connell is he is a statue in the pocket if he had even average mobility he’d be a solid QB but he isn’t
Geno isn't mobile. He tried to scramble with a wide-open pocket and hurt himself after 3 yards. All other things being equal, you go with the better QB.
No it is not hype some prospect do things at an elite level, some have elite measurables or intangibles & others have legit issues you need to figure out if they are coachable
He does have elite measurables and intangibles.
Green is a fine mid round guy but the chances of him being a starting QB getting drafted there (even sitting a year) are substantially low
That's because of where he would be drafted, not because of skill. The Lions are currently sitting on a starting caliber QB but because of where he was drafted, he may never get the chance.

Hooker was released by the Lions and the Panthers picked him up.

You have to bear in mind the source of the info talking up Hendon. Also not surprising he didn’t know Hooker was traded to Carolina.

Hendon Hooker is likely an average starter level in the NFL. Unlikely that he becomes more. Not impossible, just not probable.

He has some good physical traits and some bad processing ones?

All that said it would interesting to see a few starts in Carolina with him. He has skills, it remains to be seen if he can handle NFL level defenses.
And interestingly enough, one of his pro comparisons coming out of college? Geno Smith.

To all-
I’m working on a fairly long post that really breaks down QBs and the draft. It’s not fully ready yet.

One thing the data does show is even at the third round the likelihood of a long term NFL starter at QB becomes unlikely. There are outliers with the most famous successful 3rd round QB being Joe Montana.

Even 2nd round is a stretch in a lot of ways. Sure Hurts is defying the trend right now but is he elite? I’m sure we’d take him in a heartbeat but that’s besides the point.

After round four it really becomes a crap shoot. There are guys here and there that are successful but that’s not the norm.

The post will also talk about why a team should look at drafting late round QBs. But there it’s more speculative.

Hooker is shit, the only way he is starter caliber is if he is playing in the Woman's Extreme Football League AKA lingerie league

And Geno ain't starting for us next year if we draft a QB high in the draft.

Because it doesn't matter if he's on a different team. It changes absolutely nothing about what I stated.

 It's actually a very primitive thing the hang your hat on as a gotcha.
