2026 Draft - Raiders & all teams (April 23-25)
Obvious Mendoza #1 no consideration of trading that pick.
But who you got picks 2 - 4 thats going to help Mendoza.
#2 Raiders should be able to select WR Chris Bell or WR KC Concepcion with our early 2nd.
#3 I forget who it was, but someone here mentioned that the best pure dominant RT coming out of college could be got in the 3rd. And stated hes played his whole career at RT, and not being moved around the line.
Sounds like solid gets
Id hope the rest of the draft is building the trenches, with maybe 1 DB in there
Who else you like ?

Does anyone really think that these guys have so much faith in their own brilliance that they actually believe that the 50th guy on their board is the bpa at pick 50, and that he’s definitely better than their 51, 52, etc.? There comes a point where every team is thinking about positions when they pick.

Each teams board is different. What if Spytek's 18th best player is available at 36 and the next available OT is 48th on his board? You take the 18th best player every time. His board already likely devalues positions not needed like TE to account for that.Jeevo wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 6:45 pm Does anyone really think that these guys have so much faith in their own brilliance that they actually believe that the 50th guy on their board is the bpa at pick 50, and that he’s definitely better than their 51, 52, etc.? The problem is that fans don’t see that though they for some reason see a draft board they like & act like it is the be all & end allDanKD wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 7:59 pm Each teams board is different. I know 200% it’ll be chaos on here if Spytek & Kubiak have devalued OL because they think they have there guys already then don’t take one
Also there isnt much difference between a 1st round guy & a 3rd round guy once you hit the late teens, after the 2nd round most teams seem to start looking at need & “reach” a little

I will be fine with that if we fill holes. Maybe a later round project O lineman.CWood24 wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 8:52 pm

Yeah, I have debated this one before and just a few pages back in this thar thread using your exact example but you stated it better then myself is less words. lol.Jeevo wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 6:45 pm Does anyone really think that these guys have so much faith in their own brilliance that they actually believe that the 50th guy on their board is the bpa at pick 50, and that he’s definitely better than their 51, 52, etc.? As a for instance, let's say pick 36 rolls around and they have Eli Stowers (TE) at the top of their board with a OG rated just below him that's available as well and a need at OG, are they going to draft another TE? I'm gonna go with they draft the position of need because there are zero guarantees that either of them will succeed in the NFL anyways. This is why you see teams that have needs the majority of the times in the upper rounds end up selecting players at positions every one and their mother knows that said team is in need of.
I mean, how many times every year do we hear fans state I hope we don't draft position "X" because the draft is loaded at that position and if player "Y" is there at this position draft him. It's precisely what we are debating right now with our pick 36! Some fans are arguing not to draft a WR at 36 because we can get one later and instead take a (insert position here ____) and then turn around and say we should just draft the guy at the top of our board. But what if the player at the top of the board is a WR? Isn't that called circular logic? I'm going to go out on a limb here, but my guess is the deeper you get in the draft the more you are throwing darts at a board. Figuratively that is.

I would contend this is an extraordinary circumstance. Your example is a guy who is a sure fire first rounder at pick 18 falling 30 positions. This usually signals that something is wrong with him mentally or physically and why every team in the league is passing on him.DanKD wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 7:59 pm Each teams board is different. You are incorrectly assuming the Raiders board matches the consensus board. Maybe Kayden Mcdonald is 17th on the raiders board and he is there at 36.16 to 88 wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 10:25 pm I would contend this is an extraordinary circumstance. Actually he said Spytek's 18th ranked player. He may be the 30th ranked player in the draft and only has to fall 6 spots.16 to 88 wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 10:25 pm I would contend this is an extraordinary circumstance. So teams are looking for need if just a little and not sticking to there boards no matter what.CWood24 wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 8:52 pm The problem is that fans don’t see that though they for some reason see a draft board they like & act like it is the be all & end all

As boards are different so are fans. If we don't go OL, to me, that probably answers my question. I have been on here repeatedly saying that no one knows how they view Bech, Thornton, Rogers, Grant and possibly Glaze to some extent (much younger players). They may think that they were completely under coached and they can turn around their young careers. Where a guy who has been in the league for say, five years or so there is plenty of tape and knowledge about him as to whether he is a fit or even any good.
As you can see however I highlighted probably. I have heard GM's state repeatedly the guy they want is one pick away and the team in front of them grabs him. That changes the dynamic. So let's say they have a TE, LB and OG real close to one another talent wise right at the top of there board but the next best OG is 20 spots below him and the team in front of you selects the OG you are after, they are probably going to change the pick. Well, fans are going to say why didn't they take a OG they had rated above the one the team in front of them took but chose LB instead?
It doesn't mean they are in love with our OL guys it just means the whole dynamic changed. To complicate matters there is also scheme fit. There are OL's out there that are a much better fit for angle blocking and not a good fit at all for zone. Speaking just for me, you won't see me come unglued if we don't select a WR or OL come pick 36, as I'm not privy in any way shape or form to who is at the top of there board come that pick, what they believe we have and can fix, or if the player there was considered a scheme fit.

Today's the day. Er, kind of. I guess we have to wait one more day, to learn anything new that is. Will be fun tonight to hear the announcement.

There could be a surprise after Mendoza, like a move up into the bottom of the first or a Maxx trade.raider_kin wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 6:42 am Today's the day. Er, kind of. I guess we have to wait one more day, to learn anything new that is. Will be fun tonight to hear the announcement.
