I have no ill will toward Carr. I just dont want him as the Raiders qb anymore. He is a hard worker, he has been avalible. Those are two big things you need from a qb. He also has been (despite this season) very good in one score games with the last drive......But he is wildly inconsistent, he is a coaches pet yes man, he folds when under real pressure both physically and mentally, when he is hit he is HIGHLY likely to fumble and its actually surprising when he doesnt. We are always in a 1 score game at the end because he wont/cant attack when there is an oppertunity.
In all he is a very safe middle of the pack qb. If everything was perfect around him he could win a super bowl, but perfect is never going to happen. Rarely if ever have I said "Derek put this team on his back today" or, "carr is one hell of a qb"
Thats what i want, a qb we can all be proud of. Someone that doesnt stop attacking all the angles. Someone that doesnt jist slip in to 3 and out over amd over because the game is close. Go out and dominate.

The Jets have benched their starting QB who'd gone 5-2 this season.
Granted, it's a very different circumstance than what we have here, but I like a HC who isn't afraid to sit a guy who was considered the anointed starter.
I do wonder if Carr had been made to ride the pine a few times if it would've done him some good. It wouldn't have hurt him, and if he would've pouted and asked for a trade then it would've best for both him and the team to move on from each other.

He's much too comfortable half-assing his job in too many games. But then, maybe they'd have to answer to Mark if they sat his pet.

Perfect team around him sure as hell isn't going to happen when his cap number hits $35 mil next year.
I made those last two statements a number of times during the 2016 season, and really thought we were set at QB for the future. For a long time, I hoped he could get back to being that player, but it has seemed pretty obvious for awhile now that it's not going to happen. If by some miracle it does, I will be ecstatic, but I don't want to go into another season hoping for that miracle.

There are a handful of guys worth the money he's making and he's not one of them and it seems pretty clear that we've seen his best given that he's in his 9th year as a starter.

He'd be an improvement over what they currently have on the roster, but that's not saying much. Once the demands for all world offensive talent to be put around him, he'd get cut or shipped.

The only consistency in the entire Carr career is him getting worse. Starting in 2016 we had a good season of Carr. 2017, not good. Then we began to see the Jekyll and Hyde act. Half a season of good play, and half a season of bad. Usually good in the Fall and bad in the Winter. Then it became a good half or a bad half. Now we’re at a handful of good series a game.
Along that miserable deterioration that began with Big Al’s aging faculties, culminating in our 9 year rookie and failson owner, we have a franchise completely hollowed. Devoid of any shred of what it once was, and once stood for.
Gone is the mystique. The pride. Dignity. Aura. Gone. All gone.
Well, except for Mad Maxx. Maxx is fantastic. Kind of a reflection of who The Raiders use to be, and a sad reminder of the same.
Thank you Milquetoast Mamba.
Thank you Simp Davis.
By that I mean f[raiders_icon]ck You both.
You ruined the only sports franchise I’ve ever given a shit about.

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving

I follow Dubow on Twitter.he’s awesome.
If you think the Carr worshipers are bad on here you should see some of the interaction he has with them on there.
There are actually Raiders fans that believe Carr is as good as Mahomes and that he is just on a bad team.
It’s crazy

He has been lauded for that since he was in college.
If I had to bet on it, I'd say it's more likely that some arrogant coaches think that they could get more from Carr than their predecessors. That these coaches come in and then work with Redshirt Carr for the off-season and think they are set. Then they find out they have to limit their mighty playbooks because their QB isn't as poised as they think he is. That over time the coaches then work to adapt to who they actually have at QB versus who they first thought they had.
Remember Musgrave complaining about how he had to cobble together his running game because he had to rework it to compensate for his QB wanting to work from the gun.
