The most vocal people don't see him as a problem. Those are Carr fans, not Raider fans. This sentiment of "If Carr leaves, then I'm leaving" don't come from Raider fans. Those people are a pox on the fanbase.
Most here are older fans. We grew up seeing the Raiders as a dominant, intimidating, winning team. Our team was tough as nails and we didn't worry about the "On any given Sunday" mantra because we rightfully believed we were going to win every game.
No single player was bigger than the team. No one followed Snake to Houston. No one followed Marcus Allen to KC; and those guys were greater Raiders than Carr has ever been or will be. Hell, when Al traded Gruden to Tampa I was beside myself, but the idea of leaving the Raiders to be a Buc fan never once crossed my mind.
Nine long years with and there's nothing to show for it. Players and coaches have come and gone, but Carr remains and the results from year to year are underwhelming. It is simply unreasonable to keep any player on for that long that hasn't shown the ability to consistently perform game to game, year in and year out. That's not the way the NFL works.
I can't speak for anyone else, but that's one of the things that bothers me so much about Carr: same bullshit, different year, yet he gets a pass like no other player I've ever seen---and his fans will back him no matter what. I'm fed up with it.
People are easily susceptible to cult of personality, if you're not careful. For rational thinking people Carr's behavior at the press conferences was ridiculously unacceptable for the leader of an NFL team.

Shit, I mean, look at what Matthew Stafford went through in Detroit. I'm no fan of Mathhew Stafford particularly but could you ever see him behave like that???? I very much doubt it.

He may have finally broke mentally. I’m sure you’ll all dismiss it, but this is a good read of what he’s been through with this franchise. The article doesn’t even mention the three lame duck seasons in Oakland after the announced move.
Carr may work really hard. It just doesn't result in good enough play in games. It would piss me off if guys on the team didn't work hard enough but I don't see the work during the week so I can't comment on that. What I see are issues on the field, including drops missed blocks, blown coverages, missed tackles and also bad passes, terrible pocket awareness and Carr's inability to contribute yards on the ground despite good wheels in shorts with nobody chasing him. Does anyone think Carr would have picked up more than 4 yards on the play where Ryan ran for 39?
I believe Carr is trying, I believe he thinks he's doing all he can. I also believe that his mental makeup will prevent him from ever being good enough to be a real difference maker with any consistency.
If he would run the ball he could join Hurts, Allen, and Mahomes, but he will not, and it's a deal breaker. Next!!!!

"Broken" him? Because he didn't have ideal players around him all this time? That's not just a joke, it's f'ing offensive. My guess is that we all have personal stories of great tragedy yet we've all had to deal with it and keep moving. To read that writer saying that some millionaire jock is "broken" because he didn't play for a great organization is an insult to us all.
