Kirk Cousins

I have rarely seen a QB do more with less. Kubiak has made it clear that he is the guy this year but his play has really defied conventional wisdom. The run blocking is as putrid as it was last season. The pass blocking has been getting compliments but how much as that has to do with Cousins's pocket presence and pre snap reads?

I am not sure the subject deserves its own thread but I think what he has accomplished this season cannot be overstated and he has essentially put the offense on his back. I don't think anyone saw this coming.

Thoughts?...

Btw, I can’t vouch for the news source.

À quick check and it looks like it’s a satire and fake news source. I don’t think Spytek, et al, would disrespect other teams, well maybe the Ravens, by even saying this.

Yeah I’d say there’s almost no incentive for us to trade Kirk at this point unless someone offers something stupid. Kirk’s playing out of his mind right now. 3rd in yards and 2nd in TDs.

Trying to moneyball this and turn an 8 game rental into a 5th round pick when it’s a QB who’s single handedly keeping your season alive… run with him until the wheels fall off imo.

Did you really look? It says this at the top, “24/7 NFL coverage, insider information with trusted sources. "Don't believe satire news you see on the internet." -JFK”, but the videos are legit NFL clips.

I can’t vouch for it, but scrolling through the posts doesn’t come off as complete satire, especially the posts absent the attempted literary humor.

Where do you see a “fifth”?

When has a veteran QB been traded in season to a contender needing a QB? When has the team that traded for that QB made a playoff run?

Carson Palmer, who was holding out and on his couch? Greatest trade in football? Carson actually played well when he had a few weeks to get up to speed with Hue Jacksons playbook, there was also some familiarity with Hue's offense. It didn't make much of a difference for 2011. While I was a big Carson Palmer fan the trade set us back considerably considering what we gave up. We were in full rebuild mode the following year.

MLB you can trot a starting pitcher to the mound the day after you traded for him. It's a bit different for a QB. Best case scenario that team would be going into a bye week and even then the offense would have to be a good fit for the QB. As some have alluded, a big part of Kirk Cousin's success is the fact that he is running Kubiak's offense.

I don't see it happening and I am not sure I would want it to happen. Aaron Rodgers sat two seasons. Mendoza is being set up nicely to succeed.

I don’t think it would be wise to trade him. There’s no better bridge QB setup in the history of the NFL. They genuinely like each other (Mendo-Kirko). I don’t think Spy and Coach K want to trade him either unless Cousins asked. He seems happy right where he’s at though.

If there’s any truth to what is said, I like that Spy has slapped a 1st round ask on it.

Trade him now. We are a team in the midst of a new QB regime and he is the hot hand.

We will never get better value for a 38 year old QB and never be in a better situation to make a deal

Fools gold, QB need and a guy who is perfect for the trade market

What's your price? Everyone has a price.

No trading a sure thing for an unknown.

A silver BMW M2 with black interior, a green Land Rover (I think) for the Missus, a 5 bed 5 bath with a pool in the hills above Malibu, and a ¼ billion cash should suffice.

…but a 1st, definitely, or a 2nd. That’s too good to pass up.

Yes, I asked if it was legitimate and it said no, it wasn’t, fake news and satire. The first bit follows, and yes I know that this can also be wrong.

No, the NFC North News account on X (@NFCNorthNewss) is not legitimate. It is a satire and fake news account that posts absurd, made-up claims (such as federal match-fixing investigations into the Green Bay Packers or completely fabricated player trades).
