Cousins signs with Raiders
I don't love this. I get it, but I don't love it.

I wonder if Cousins is now the 2026 starter? Or will there be a QB competition during training camp and preseason?

Cousin's deal includes a $10mil roster bonus on the 3rd day of the NFL 2027 season. Does this disappear if he is no longer on the roster?

I'll again ask who and how do you know all the facts of the matter or in fact if this is 100% true?Attyla wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 8:09 am Early on, quite a few better than a guy who threw a tantrum and refused to do the off season workouts because they dared pick a QB the year before.
Everything I've read about him has been more positive than negative and if you read what MP Jr has said about KC, that has been 100% positive. No offense, but with KK knowledge of him and the system, TB input and I'd assume their discussions with KC and everyone involved, I'll side with their plan over yours or mine own or any other poster on a forum.

Very interesting contract. If Cousins looks better with Kubiak, we might be able to flip him for a mid to late rounder at the deadline. Buys us time to get Mendoza and the OL right with the Falcons subsidizing a portion of the deal. And if Kubiak is the real deal, he might be able to convince another team to give us a pick for this guy if their own starter went down with injury.
Spytek continuing what has been a fantastic off-season. We have ourselves a legit GM finally

i dont see that happening at all ...rookie franchise qb's r given at least 2 yrs before fans start mumbling and if they even show flashes we give 3 yrsSuperRaider wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 8:35 am Yeah but I don’t want us to go 1-5 with Mendoza as starting QB and everybody calling for Cousin to start; where if we had a crappy backup then we just stay with Mendoza….us Raider fans are notorious for calling for the backup to start straight away

Is there really a possibility now that they won't draft Mendoza? This is unbelievable..

Another thing is that we don't have to throw Mendoza into a team that is running a new offense in the league. Cousins can be the guy to take the lumps, and he's more qualified to do so, while evryone gets up to speed.

Lol. They 100% are taking Mendoza and signed Cousins specifically because of that.Raiderfanguy wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 8:49 am Is there really a possibility now that they won't draft Mendoza? This is unbelievable..

We are paying this guy 10M next season not to play for us. I have been a fan of the offseason thus far, this one makes no sense to me.Coach dd 11 wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 8:46 am I'll again ask who and how do you know all the facts of the matter or in fact if this is 100% true?

Why? What exactly is the problem? This is and has been their plan and they've all said as much. Whether or not they draft Mendoza or not, to me that is irrelevant. If they don't feel he's their guy, they still got a NFL starter on a good deal which cost us little and easy to get out of it. They can trade for more picks and build the team while having the draft capital to move up next year in the draft to get a QB (again, if that is their plan). Or they simply draft Mendoza or someone else they like this year and develop them for the team.Raiderfanguy wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 8:49 am Is there really a possibility now that they won't draft Mendoza? If that were to happen, I would seriously consider just watching college football. I mean since that is now pro football, the drop off in skill sets is not that great anymore.Raiderfanguy wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 8:49 am Is there really a possibility now that they won't draft Mendoza?
