I didn't see much QBing skills from Sellers. He looks like another Anthony Richardson at this point to me.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 4:54 pm I’m not a betting man, but I figured watching the Heisman odds could be a cheap sloppy way of seeing where the QB pecking order lies. (Just gonna be concentrating on the QBs)
Week 0:
Arch Manning (Texas): +700
Cade Klubnik (Clemson): +900
Garrett Nussmeier (LSU): +900
Carson Beck (Miami): +1800
LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina): +1800
Drew Allar (Penn State): +1800
Ty Simpson (Alabama): +1800
Julian Sayin (Ohio State): +2000
Sam Leavitt (Arizona State): +2000
Dante Moore (Oregon): +2500
John Mateer (Oklahoma): +2500
Week 1:
Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU (+650)
LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina (+700)
Carson Beck, QB, Miami (+1200)
Gunner Stockton, QB, Georgia (+!200)
John Mateer, QB, Oklahoma (+1300)
Arch Manning, QB, Texas (+1600)
Cade Klubnik, QB, Clemson (+1600)
Drew Allar, QB, Penn State (+1600)
Sam Leavitt, QB, Arizona State (+1600)
Dante Moore, QB, Oregon (+2000)
Personally, I like Sellers the most. Like a Hurts with less brute power and more skills associated with playing QB. It’s his size that has him move above Nussmeier for me. I don’t trust Beck, makes me think of a low-grade Matt Ryan. I like Allar as well, again due to size.

Doesn’t sound like there’s anything I can do to help you see them.Raider_Dave wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 6:51 pm I didn't see much QBing skills from Sellers. He looks like another Anthony Richardson at this point to me.

Yeah dude, I went and made sure I wasn’t missing something that made the two of them more similar than I realized. I mean, sure, they’re both black men. They both are mobile and can run. They both have powerful arms. After that though, it kind of ends for me.Raider_Dave wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 6:51 pm I didn't see much QBing skills from Sellers. Sellers seem far more willing to stay on platform and use the pocket until it simply collapses on him. You can see him go through his progressions. Even when he begins to scramble, more often than not, he seems to be buying time for a receiver to get open.
As I said before, they both have great arms, but Sellers seems to have much better placement. He also seems to be able to change up the pitch so-to-speak. Where Richardson has a fastball regardless of receiver depth. Completion % for AR is 54.7 and Sellers 65.8. That’s higher than Nussmeier, Klubnik, Manning, Leavitt, Allar, and even Drew Brees’ college days.
Another thing I noticed is how they both can run, but AR puts himself in danger nearly every time. Takes big hits. Which we know he hasn’t fixed yet. Sellers looks smart enough to take what’s there, when it’s there, and gets down or goes out of bounds when it’s not. Just my opinion, but AR looks like an RB/WR who can throw and Sellers a QB who can run.
And mercy they definitely had different Olines blocking for them. Florida made and held pockets much longer than SC seems to be able to.
It’s good to make sure I wasn’t way off-base. At least with my personal opinion. By the end of the college season, I expect that Sellers will rise too far for the Raiders to have a chance without a trade up anyway.
I’ll leave their Freshmen year highlights in case anyone’s interested…
