Was one of the top players in the draft. Keep devaluing positions (like TE with Bowers last year).

Draft grade are meaningless.

Well except for this one Chad Reuter.

Grade
A+
Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders
Round 1 (No. 6): RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State

Analysis:

Jeanty's combination of power through contact, vision, patience and stamina made him one of the top talents in the draft. The Raiders clearly missed having Josh Jacobs in the backfield last year, but Jeanty will be able to make defenses pay as a runner and receiver.
Draft grades right after the fact are near useless.
I compiled and posted those grades last night not because they are gospel, but because they are giving opinions -- just like we do. Only perhaps some of them are better informed that we are? The grades one year from now will be more accurate -- duh.
i like the optimism but RB is not a value pick ay 6 ovl, and this guy had success vs very weak opponents, the first good run D he faced he was pathetic a t best
I hope I'm very wrong of course but it sounds like the usual raider first round pick
sorry for the negativity
:fingerscrossed:
You must not watch much football, I got one name for you Ricky Williams! All we did was stay we were and got the back of our future, at least we didn't give up anything for him, yes we could have gambled, but I don't think Pete and Spy are wanting to risk it, they don't have time for gambling. I honestly think we got the steal of the draft here, he will have the biggest impact of any first round player, just like Bowers.

It feels good that the Raiders now have a great running back for years to come.
"He can make your offensive line look good"

Funny, I said that weeks ago and was laughed off these boards. So what do those people now say after Baldy makes the same comment? :smirk:
Funny it's all words so far, we have to see how it plays out. I do think he has moves that will make the OL look better, OL still needs to get better for a consistent running game. I am looking forward to better OC'ing to.

Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State – C- Grade
I’m not crazy about this pick. Ashton Jeanty is obviously a great running back prospect, but I don’t think he’s on an elite level like Saquon Barkley or Christian McCaffrey. I would only draft those sort of players in the top 10. If I were the Raiders, I would have drafted Armand Membou instead or tried to trade down. However, I can’t grade Las Vegas poorly for this because Jeanty will be a very good player. Still, with Chip Kelly on the staff, couldn’t the Raiders have drafted one of the Ohio State backs with their second pick?
I halfway agree with this.

I strongly disagree with the idea that Jeanty is not an elite prospect. If you’re gonna spend a Top 10 on a RB, Jeanty is as good a gamble as anyone else. He’s got everything, speed, power, vision, stop and start quickness, lateral agility.

But I agree with the idea that we could have created more value in the totality of the draft by looking elsewhere. Of the players on the board when we picked, Membou also would’ve been my choice. A little short, but great technique and burst.

I also agree with the author RE OSU RBs.

I’m not upset with the Jeanty pick. I think he will be a great back. I think he will be a great culture fit. And if nothing else he will put butts in seats and that is a huge deal for Vegas in particular. Home field advantage is something we sorely miss from the Oakland days, someone like Jeanty could help to get the locals more into it.

I’d love for him to be part of a SB run, but if he can help make Vegas a serious team again, that alone is a big deal.
There is no missing context here, bro - if you said he was worth a #6 if Jeanty was gone, that means you said he was worth a #6. The fact that, to no one's surprise, we picked Jeanty at #6 has no bearing on your assertion that Dart is worth drafting that high.

Take it easy - if Dart pans out, you have bragging rights, and if he doesn't, nobody will remember. Nothing about Dart has been proven yet, and there are no moles to whack.
I have bragging rights anyway. And you also don't understand what it means for someone to take someone's words out of context...either that or you didn't bother to go back far enough to read the original statement by the other poster who also doesn't understand "context" because he purposely qutoed only a portion of my statement. (context) Besides, I certainly don't need your validation.

That will be the question going forward. Are The Raiders better with Jeanty & 2nd or 3rd round O-Line or if they took Membou/Booker & Henderson/Judkins?

The Raiders have been at their best historically with good backs and a ferocious dline. We're getting to that point if Koonce comes back healthy. Love this pick. I wanted Graham or Jeanty personally. Glaze showed enough that RT just wasn't the right value at 6, IMO.

If the 2nd round pick was an O/Dlinemen I'd be thrilled. Keep adding to the lines. After the draft I'd be interested in a trade for Jalen Ramsey. He's wanted to be a Raider for some time also

Ratledge OG, Green Edge are two interesting prospects. If Koonce balls next year he's getting paid big. You could have a player drafted and ready to replace him in Green. Ratledge plugs in at RG and would be great next to JPJ
