The smartphone generation wants big, sexy hooks within the first 30 seconds or they just click the next thing down the list. This song has an intro, bridge and outro in addition to the usual verse/chorus structure...like all good songs, it is complex and takes you for a ride as you listen. Hell, some of Meatloaf's stuff clocks in at 10+ minutes...still its a shame that kids don't really just sit and listen to a whole album like people used to do. Anyway, I'm rambling on...as usual Just my opinion on why musical quality is lacking in today's pop music...So called songs today have no structure or composition or any of the basic music theory I was taught when learning guitar. And what really shits me is the so called sampling thing they do which to me is out and out plagiarism.[/quote] Word, no double word Low Spark of High Heeled Boys instantly came to mind when reading your post, not to mention lately I have been listing to complete albums. Coincidentally I am starting Bob Dylan's New Morning album right now.

Now back to New Morning

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_UXt6fr0Bw

Lyric to this son song have always made me chuckle

I got a 007 watch and it's a one and only
Its got a I Spy beeper that tells me when you're lonely
I got a Batmobile so I can reach ya in a fast shake
When your worlds in crisis of an impendin' heartbreak

Now don't you call James Bond or Secret Agent Man
Cause they can't do it, like I can
I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker - every day
I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker

If you're hanging from a cliff or you're tied to the tracks, girl
Columbo split and you can't find Kojak
True love is broken and your tears are fallin faster
You're sufferin' from a pain in your heart
Or some other natural disaster

Now I don't care what kind of shape you're in
If they put up a roadblock, I'll parachute in
I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker - Im in love
I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker - every day
I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker - with you

So you fell for some jerk who was tall, dark and handsome
Then he kidnapped your heart and now he's holdin it for ransom
Well, like a mission impossible Im gonna go and get it back
You know I woulda taken better care of it, baby, than that

Sometimes I get so hot girl, well, I can't talk
But when I'm with you I cool off , and I walk
I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker, and I talk
I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker, every day
I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker, every day
