Lost my shape
Trying to act casual!
Can't stop
I might end up in the hospital
I'm changing my shape
I feel like an accident
They're back!
To explain their experience
Isn't it weir
Looks too obscure to me
Wasting away
And that was their policy
I'm ready to leave
I push the fact in front of me
Facts lost
Facts are never what they seem to be
Nothing there!
No information left of any kind
Lifting my head
Looking for danger signs
There was a line
There was a formula
Sharp as a knife
Facts cut a hole in us
There was a line
There was a formula
Sharp as a knife
Facts cut a hole in us
I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting...
I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting...
I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting...
The feeling returns
Whenever we close out eyes
Lifting my head
Looking around inside
The island of doubt
It's like the taste of medicine
Working by hindsight
Got the message from the oxygen
Making a list
Find the cost of opportunity
Doing it right
Facts are useful in emergencies
The feeling returns
Whenever we close out eyes
Lifting my head
Looking around inside.
Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don't do what I want them to
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
Facts don't stain the furniture
Facts go out and slam the door
Facts are written all over your face
Facts continue to change their shape
I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting...
I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting...
I'm still waiting... I'm still waiting...

This reminds me of my brother-in-law
"Taxi"
It was raining hard in 'Frisco
I needed one more fare to make my night
A lady up ahead waved to flag me down
She got in at the light
Oh, where you going to, my lady blue
It's a shame you ruined your gown in the rain
She just looked out the window
She said, Sixteen Parkside Lane
Something about her was familiar
I could swear I'd seen her face before
But she said, I'm sure you're mistaken
And she didn't say anything more
It took a while, but she looked in the mirror
And she glanced at the license for my name
A smile seemed to come to her slowly
It was a sad smile, just the same
And she said, How are you Harry
I said, How are you Sue
Through the too many miles
And the too little smiles
I still remember you
It was somewhere in a fairy tale
I used to take her home in my car
We learned about love in the back of a Dodge
The lesson hadn't gone too far
You see, she was gonna be an actress
And I was gonna learn to fly
She took off to find the footlights
And I took off to find the sky
Oh, I've got something inside me
To drive a princess blind
There's a wild man, wizard
He's hiding in me, illuminating my mind
Oh, I've got something inside me
Not what my life's about
'Cause I've been letting my outside tide me
Over 'til my time, runs out
(Yes, she's flying, afraid to fall)
(I'll tell you why baby's crying)
('Cause she's dying, aren't we all)
There was not much more for us to talk about
Whatever we had once was gone
So I turned my cab into the driveway
Past the gate and the fine trimmed lawns
And she said, we must get together
But I knew it'd never be arranged
And she handed me twenty dollars
For a two fifty fare
She said, Harry, keep the change
Well, another man might have been angry
And another man might have been hurt
But another man never would've let her go
I stashed the bill in my shirt
And she walked away in silence
It's strange, how you never know
But we'd both gotten what we'd asked for
Such a long, long time ago
You see, she was gonna be an actress
And I was gonna learn to fly
She took off to find the footlights
And I took off for the sky
And here, she's acting happy
Inside her handsome home
And me, I'm flying in my taxi
Taking tips, and getting stoned
I go flying so high, when I'm stoned

Another one from the "B" side. From Alan Parsons Project tales of mystery and imagination.
By the last breath of the four winds that blow
I'll have revenge upon Fortunato
Smile in his face I'll say "come let us go
I've a cask of Amontillado"
Sheltered inside from the cold of the snow
Follow me now to the vault down below
Drinking the wine as we laugh at the time
Which is passing incredibly slow
(What are these chains that are binding my arm?)
Part of you dies each passing day
(Say it's a game and I'll come to no harm)
You'll feel your life slipping away
You who are rich and whose troubles are few
May come around to see my point of view
What price the Crown of a King on his throne
When you're chained in the dark all alone
(Spare me my life only name your reward)
Part of you dies each brick I lay
(Bring back some light in the name of the Lord)
You'll feel your mind slipping away
Lorraine Lewis would put a horn on a dead man.........

[quote=16 to 88 post_id=318252]Wow. Sold my soul. You have great taste in music! So you want to play that game huh?! Why don't you stick around for some Rock N' Roll?
The Outlaws. One of my all time favorite bands. Top 5 for sure. Just my own personal taste, absolutely love them. Saw them more times then I can remember and partied with them on a couple occasions. Hughie was a very cool and very nice and incredibly un-assuming guy and very receptive. I saw them just months before he passed away in San Jose.
So glad I stood in that long line after the concert and gave him a hug and told him that I loved him. He was touring with CDB and MTB at the time and I'll never forget Charlie was doing one of his songs towards the end and he had members of both bands on stage taking turns on playing quick guitar solos to his song at the front.
When it came Hughie's turn, in typical Hughie fashion, Charlie turned to look for him and he wasn't there. He was way in the back shunning the limelight. Charlie grabbed him by the arm and made him come up to the front of the stage. Where, of course, he spent the next minute shredding that fender of his.
What an incredible talent, superb singer (I swear he could sing opera), song writer, guitar player. Loved all the Outlaws and there vocal harmonies. Billy Jones, Henry Paul and Freddie Salem were all amazing talent that wrote so many good songs.
Anyway, I like the version of this song on bring it back alive better as they shortened it here. The 5:24 to 5:50 mark with Hughie and Billy playing together like that is absolutely incredible. One of my own personal favorite parts of any song written by them...

Beautifully Broken
By Warren Haynes
Mysterious, blown in with the night
All this beauty captured in a frame
Visibly shaken, but never stirred
Drives them insane
I see the way she plays her men
And I know I've got to know her name
She's so beautifully broken
Shaped by the wind
Dangerously twisted
Here I go again
I see the way she cast her spell
It's like drowning in moonlight
Discards them she's done
They're lost in her twilight
I watch her move from star to star
And I wonder why, why it feels so right
She's so beautifully broken
You can barely see the flaw
Especially from a distance
Which is always how I fall
Why do I fall for the dangerous ones?
The ones that never learned to let go
And why do I lie to myself
And pretend that I can break her
When she's already been so
Beautifully broken
Why do I fall for the dangerous ones?
The ones that don't know how to let go
And why do I lie to myself
And pretend that I could break her
When she's already been so
Beautifully broken
Shaped by the wind
Dangerously twisted
Here I go again
Here I go again

Rocking Horse
By Gov't Mule
My guardian angel wears a hard hat
Said the boy with the microphone
Else, I wouldn't be standing here today
Ever since I was a young a boy
I couldn't leave well enough alone
Always trouble standing in my way
Up, down, anywhere but in the middle
Off the wagon, under the wheel again
All or nothing, never could do just a little
Never could leave it alone
Hard living be the death of me
Lead me to an early grave
To die in the saddle must be my destiny
But to ride this rocking horse I must be crazed
Good clean fun is just my imagination
Down and dirty that's the way the game is played
This hard life has caused me aggravation
Never could leave it alone
Got to ride that rocking horse
Can't leave it alone
Got to ride that rocking horse
Songwriters: ALLEN WOODY, GREGORY LENOIR ALLMAN, JACK PEARSON, WARREN HAYNES
