do not use a shot gun on a drone, too much noise and too easily spotted, i would use a 22 lr which is a way more accurate then a shotgun and gets the job done minus some of the riskHellbound wrote: Sat Nov 07, 2026 6:38 am No nerve struck at all. Just saying how things would work out in my neck of the woods. One day you're going to run across people that don't care what a law says or what type of license you do or don't have. It's not "tough talk" either. It's how things sometimes work where I live

Im in suburbia where the largest lots are 1/3 or 1/2 acre in size so we are on top of eachother here. Ive had to put down a raccoon or two when they decide to enter my garage uninvited and refuse to leave when asked. For that I use sub sonic .22CB caps. Fairly quiet. Quieter than my Beeman air rifle.
If I decided to use shotgun or rifle on a drone, I suspect a half dozen of my cities finest would help me with getting a detailed inspection of the nuances of the hairline cracks and stains up close of my driveway cement that I wouldnt routinely see while standing upright. Rifle fire in my area draws attention rather quickly. Its not like I live in Oakland where it is just background noise lol.

Yea, suburbia is the worst place to fire a shot, too many people who want peace and quiet. FYI my best drone can really amplify an inspection of the cracks in your driveway.Xramfan wrote: Sat Nov 07, 2026 9:18 am Im in suburbia where the largest lots are 1/3 or 1/2 acre in size so we are on top of eachother here. You’re not kidding. We had licensed drone operators at the fire dept I used to work and those guys said they could see your ear hair from over a mile away……that was years ago so I’m certain it has only gotten much more enhanced by nowAttyla wrote: Sat Nov 07, 2026 9:32 am Yea, suburbia is the worst place to fire a shot, too many people who want peace and quiet.
