This is a extremely serious potential problem....how long before one or very many at one time explodes with a major weapon on board those things?
all these major venue parks are going to now immediately need some type of electricity disrupting fields around the entire venue for some distance to immediately turn off/kill those electronic birds.

Yes they are. Like no one ever thought planes could be crashed into the Twin Towers or that Pearl Harbor could/would be attacked. Thinking outside the box and preparing for events like these is how to not look stupid after the fact.

I fly drones as a side hustle. Size matters with them. Those smaller units cannot carry much of a weapon. You can get those smaller units close to the stadium, one of mine fits in a bag the size of a purse. Larger units would be tougher to get close. The range of most the readily available drones is less than 5 miles. That sounds like a lot and I guess it is, but they can be spotted pretty easily. Its the hybrid drones that function using both electricity and a propellent that are more of a danger. Those things are fast as hell and have a very long range.ELCAraiderfan wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2026 9:30 pm This is a extremely serious potential problem....how long before one or very many at one time explodes with a major weapon on board those things?

My guess is this is like the dildo thing at WNBA games. Pranks that are just stupid. In this case, pretty expensive pranks at that. I use mine to do land photos mostly for real estate companies. Occasionally damage assessments. Not a lot of money to be had but you can get into it for less than 500 easily. It is just learning how to fly them that can be a trick. Everything is the opposite of what feels natural.
That said, most states have laws on the books that say you cannot fly them over stadiums when there are events happening. I wanted to take some shots of the construction of the new stadium downtown and my app gave me a warning that it was restricted. Even with nobody working. That is the cool thing about them, unless you are an idiot, your GPS/Drone App combination will keep you from flying them where you are not allowed. Parks in Nashville, off limits. Near an airport, equally off limits. But people are going to break laws, it is the nature of the beast. People see drones being used in wars and try to come up with ways they can do the same thing. But hey, we didn't want to ban cars after cars were used in warfare.

You can just call it a purse buddy. No judgements. We’re all friends here.Attyla wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2026 1:08 pm I fly drones as a side hustle. Size matters with them. Well if a cube shaped nylon bag with a one and a half inch nylon belt with an adjustable plastic lynch strap is a purse, guilty as charged. It is almost certainty cheaper than the actual purses my wife insists on buying. Maybe I should show her the case and tell her it is a purse and save myself some jackGoodTimeCharlie wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2026 4:29 pm You can just call it a purse buddy. No judgements. There are laws regarding drones over a residence. If you are filming above a residence it cannot be with the intention to spy or invade a privacy. But a drone over a house is not necessarily a violation and a drone flyer can sue and win if it is proven that it was just a drone over a house. Like I said, I make some additional cash using a drone to film properties for real estate firms. Sometimes that requires hovering over adjacent properties. I am polite in letting those home owners know but it is not required in my state. Take out my drone I will seek legal means of recovery. And I have the video to prove I am in the right. I record from the moment my bird is in the air until it comes down.pfish57 wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2026 5:24 pm If I see a a drone hoovering over my house it's coming down...just saying I don't give a shit what anybody thinks about it lol

You must of missed the part where I said I don't give a Shit! I had a drone land in my backyard & I curb stomped it & threw it in the ditch behind my house, and it's been crickets lol What's more of an invasion of your privacy than a drone hoovering in your backyard other than a perverted peeping tom???Attyla wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2026 5:38 pm There are laws regarding drones over a residence. Shit, ain’t that the truth. The more expensive a bag that carries shit a man would buy gets, the more likely it will survive a nuclear bomb. For a lady, my simplistic mind sees no change whatsoever besides the brand name and price.Attyla wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2026 5:21 pm Well if a cube shaped nylon bag with a one and a half inch nylon belt with an adjustable plastic lynch strap is a purse, guilty as charged.
