NFL Trade Deadline
Ok maybe this doesn’t need its own thread but the deadline is 5 weeks away. I know the next couple weeks will determine if we are buyers but let’s say we get to 5-2 do we make a move?
I really wish we still had Jakobi here but it sounds like a few guys might be available…
Brian Thomas Jr
Marvin Harrison Jr
Jerry Jeudy
Thoughts?

What if you could trade Cousins and also do a deadline trade for a DT for an equivalent draft pick? You already have a QB replacement, even if it might be a short term downgrade (it also might not be a downgrade), and then probably have a significant upgrade in the middle of the D. You might trade your QB and make your team immediately better in the process, while at a net zero in future draft picks.Opoponax50 wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2026 8:56 am If Brissett can fetch a 4th rounder, then Cousins is easily in the running for a 1st.
I really, really, really don't want to trade Kirko, so the price I'd want, if it were up to me, would be sky high.
I have done zero research to see who might be available in trade to help our D so I don't know if this is actually feasible. I'm just spitballing.

I was looking at some of the Viking players. Nobody really sticks out TBH. I would be aggressive and offer Cousins for a 3rd. I think they do that deal in a heartbeat. I would like to beat the Colts to the punch (rumors are they are trying to send Jones there). Honest question. Would anyone in their wildest dreams ever expect that we could end up trading Cousins (let alone for a 3rd)? There is already chatter that Murray has a hamstring issue (meaning he blows).

I don't think we trade Cousins. I would be happy if we did though, and I'm really just discussing it rather than expecting it to happen. Maybe something happens this Sunday to change the sentiment on the possibility. Then again maybe Wentz has an unexpected great game and the Vikings decide they'd rather just roll with him.RI RAIDER wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2026 10:54 am I was looking at some of the Viking players. I do think trading Cousins is in the long term interest of the team. I'd love to also keep this season as a competitive effort though. If you want a player in "return" for Cousins then you'd have to deal a pick to another team to get that player, because the Vikings aren't going to make a deal for a QB and then trade away a defensive player to make it happen. The Vikings are purely buyers, not sellers IMO.

just looking at kirks contract, it almost a must for us to trade him off and get something, rather then nothingchucker wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2026 11:12 am I don't think we trade Cousins.
