NFL Trade Deadline
Ok maybe this doesn’t need its own thread but the deadline is 5 weeks away. I know the next couple weeks will determine if we are buyers but let’s say we get to 5-2 do we make a move?
I really wish we still had Jakobi here but it sounds like a few guys might be available…
Brian Thomas Jr
Marvin Harrison Jr
Jerry Jeudy
Thoughts?

Possible chance JPJ will go to another team as a starting center; at the moment with the raiders he should be the backup center for the Raiders, but I don’t think he ismranquales wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2026 9:54 pm JPJ will be another player that will Excel on another team like Parham. Jeanty as well.

For sure. People are always afraid of letting go of players in case they succeed elsewhere. If its not working here no sense in hanging on to them

I think JPJ is too dumb to be a good NFL center. He's too fragile to be a reliable NFL guard, but he has a better chance of somehow finding health than discovering his inner genius.

Another factor that's not being considered is that no one wants Maxx Crosby as bad as Raider fans think. One first round pick was vetoed. Everyone except most Raider fans can see that Crosby is overrated. He never makes plays when the team needs it.
Every decent lineman gets doubled that's no excuse to not have an impact. A FA LB has already surpassed him in defensive impact.
He purposely oversell his passrush wins and pursuit of the QB when he knows he won't catch him. He will purposely blitz the wrong run fit gap and run past the RB to make it seem like he just missed the tackle when it's obvious the lineman let him through on purpose to take him out of the play.
Because he loses weight every year he now gets stonewalled by TEs. In reality both of our lines would be upgraded if we were able to trade Crosby for Ioane Vega and have a larger Paye and Crawford play the edges.

From the article:
“ In the days leading up to this year's Nov. 10 deadline, a team always could check in on Crosby and inquire about what it might take to try to trade for the five-time Pro Bowler.
But those potential calls have not yet occurred, and if they do, they are not expected to change the Raiders' stance. They certainly won't change Crosby's.”

If Crosby gets traded (Don’t think he will) we need to thank Jeffery Simmons for the compensation.
Bears paid our the ass to get him and in his first game he changed the entire Bears D on primetime

Mad Max should have been traded last year.
Dude has diminishing return value each year and it's showing on the field.
By next year he will be nothing more than a rotational player. His body is breaking down.
I love the guy and would love to see him traded to a contender. He deserves that much.

I think it's a possibility the teams that are considered SB contenders, might be reevaluating what's on the horizon. The 49ers immediately come to mind. The bears didn't make that trade for next year, they made it because they think they can win the bowl this year. SF has the oldest roster in the league. After seeing what the bears did in Seattle I wonder if they are thinking do we really have enough? With Bosa and Crosby getting after quarterbacks that team would be lethal.

If we happen to beat the 49ers Sunday, I think it is possible we become buyers not sellers the following Tuesday as the playoffs will be in the conversation.

I severely hope they have no intentions of becoming buyers this season.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 11:07 pm If we happen to beat the 49ers Sunday, I think it is possible we become buyers not sellers the following Tuesday as the playoffs will be in the conversation.

I highly doubt it, I can't see any scenario where they would have been thinking that this was a one year turn around, and as such, they are really counting on those picks and that large cap budget to address the rest of the teams biggest needs.DeathStar24 wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2026 4:05 am I severely hope they have no intentions of becoming buyers this season.

I think it is lip service that Maxx is not available in order to build up the price (which is obviously lower than last season). I think the trade of Simmons (Bruckner and Nelson as well) will make contending teams want to make a trade in order to keep up (come on Jerry). However, Maxx will not fetch anything close to what Simmons got. Comparing the 2 is like comparing Sydney Sweeney to Rosie O'Donnell. This is not to slight Maxx. Simmons is arguably the biggest disruptor in the NFL and he plays a position that is tough to fill and there are not many dominant players at the position. It was also the perfect storm. The Bears are going for the Super Bowl and DT was a HUGE need for them.silverandblack35+ wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 8:27 pm If Crosby gets traded (Don’t think he will) we need to thank Jeffery Simmons for the compensation.
