Is it Mendoza time???

Unread post by pfish57 »

We are on a 4 game losing skid, and I think it's time to put KC out to pasture...with that said all this talk of Mendoza getting destroyed is asinine...hell KC has somehow come out unscathed after 7 games what makes people think a mobile QB will fare worse...we aren't going anywhere with KC! It's time to get the kid some real game time experience & see what life with Mendoza entails!

Mendoza should definitely be starting at this point. Our ceiling is 5-6 wins. Mendoza needs reps

Jets (East Coast), SF, away, Seattle, Denver are the next 4 games.

Talk about sink or swim...

Defense is giving on avg over 28 points a game. Cousins scores enough with poor running and a meh offensive line.

A decent 24 or less defense and the team is 5-2

6 points at half when the game was all but finished. How
Many 3 and outs?

Jets just lost to the dolphins of all teams at home. East coast??? If that is a concern we might as well never play football.

Both the SF game and the Denver game are not only on the road, but they are both coming off their bye. Seattle comes to us and after that we go to Cleveland. Everyone that knows even a little bit about football realized how brutal our schedule was at the beginning of the season. It's going to be interesting to see how they handle Mendoza. Has Kubiak had enough of Cousins and just can't take it anymore?

After the bye the schedule settles down a bit with 3 straight home games. Which means we won't be going anywhere for a month.

-Chargers who we have already seen and will have 2 weeks to prepare for.
-Broncos who we have already seen and it will be there 2nd week in a row on the road.
-Titans.
-At Cardinals
-At Chiefs

Total speculation on my part, but all along I have gone with that they want to bring in Mendoza to finish out the season. That would give him 5 games of NFL playing experience going into next season.

And that's just it. If your defense sucks your offense can't suck too. You have to at least keep the game close and if we had done that they wouldn't have scored 28 before half because we would have worn there defense down and used up a ton of clock in doing so.

By the end of the half they were going on 4th down instead of taking points because they were down so far.

Bottom line is if the defense gave up 24 or less the team would be in the running for a playoff spot.

Offense has issues but the defense is the main problem.

If your defense doesn't suck, your offense can win games scoring 27 points a game.

They scored 21 today, didn't take 2 extra points, missed a FG and didn't kick two easy FGs because they were behind by too much and going on 4th down instead. Add those points and we would of had 32 today.

It works both ways.

Going into today's game we were the 3rd highest scoring team in the NFL.

Its the defense.
.
Even with our offensive flaws the team scores points.

I have no problem with Mendoza starting, but between rookie mistakes and a shitty defense don't expect too much

Start Mendoza. Trade Cousins, trade Crosby, build for the future. We beat the bad teams but We arent good enough to compete with good teams yet.

I am not disagreeing with you regarding the defense. It blows ass.

Our offense has been blowing ass as well. The oline is putrid and the running game is almost nonexistent. Don’t give me “Carr” junk time stats to tell me the offense isnt bad, it is horrible the last month or so.

I, for one, don't like you calling posters at our Forum "asinine" for expressing concerns about playing the rookie too early.

Changing QBs won’t change the issues. I doubt the staff wants to throw the Mendoza into the fire.

Kirk’s playing good football. Not his fault that the D sucks and the running game sucks. He should play as long as we’re in mathematical contention.

Like I said at the start of the season . The bye week is the right time to move Mendo up.
