NFL Trade Deadline
Ok maybe this doesn’t need its own thread but the deadline is 5 weeks away. I know the next couple weeks will determine if we are buyers but let’s say we get to 5-2 do we make a move?
I really wish we still had Jakobi here but it sounds like a few guys might be available…
Brian Thomas Jr
Marvin Harrison Jr
Jerry Jeudy
Thoughts?

If that's the case, then the coaching staff needs to overrule him. NFL players are highly competitive and are willing to be out on the field unless they can't walk. Right now, he's not helping the team, just the opposite. I don't know how long it takes to heal from any injury, but it's clear that he's injured.raiders93 wrote: Wed Oct 21, 2026 4:44 pm Zero concerns about Jeanty. He’s 100% injured. Ankle sprain + plantar fasciitis don’t go away in a week especially when you’re getting crushed. O-line still doing no favours. Apparently we’ve had internal discussions about shutting him down for a week or 2 and he just won’t go for it.
Sit him for two weeks and see how he is then. Injuries are an inevitable part of the game so they need to be dealt with properly.

Jordan Jahani has deluded himself into thinking that NFL teams take into consideration that which he would like to see.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Wed Oct 21, 2026 3:44 pm CBS just ran a story about players that deserve to be in a new place and guess who they feature? ...I expressed my concerns repeatedly at the time for that much over the next highest, and also for reasons which were on display last week, albeit, against a monster dt just coming in to his own, but the ease at which the kid handled him on some of those plays was hard to watch.raider_kin wrote: Wed Oct 21, 2026 9:16 am We need to draft guards or our line will get way too pricey
I'm beginning to wonder if the Linderbaum move was the right one
....thankfully, he (bills d tackle) is one of very few who possess that combination of size, power and quickness, but the reality is that signing him for that amount certainly has made not over signing a very top free agent guard at a very top annual salary for that position, more likely our reality....

Shit, I'm not even ready to give up on Jeanty and I'd still absolutely deal him to a desperate team in a heartbeat. We're talking about a position that's the easiest to replace, especially when the production has been missing from the guy. Not to mention, its clear that Jeanty was a Pete pick.
There's only two guys on this team right now that are untouchable...Bowers and Mendoza.

Jeanty's actually on pace for about 700 yards receiving. That's pretty good production from the position. I would like to see him healthy behind a better offensive line before giving up on him.

And thats with the drops. He has potential to be a great receiving back even if he never lives up to the #6 pick hype. But given the contract id also trade him if a team was willing to give up 2ndheavyD wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2026 1:41 pm Jeanty's actually on pace for about 700 yards receiving. Seattle could certainly use a back, I like Jeanty but vision and burst seem off this season, 79 team rushing yards a game isn’t gonna cut it. G, NT, WR is my wish list. Isn’t Nelson in his prime? I know he wants to get paid but f[raiders_icon]ck we need someone to generate some running lanes.

If we had the ability to run the ball I think we might lead the league in scoring. Look at what Kubiak is producing with a one dimensional offense.

I looked at the dead money, that won't be happening. They married him this off-season.mstrbass2000 wrote: Wed Oct 21, 2026 11:11 am Vita Vea

ESPN’s Dan Graziano believes Vita Vea could be traded before the NFL’s trade deadline.
With the Bucs’ 2026 season circling the drain, Vea, 31, could be dealt in the coming weeks to a contending team looking to beef up their defensive line for a second half run to the postseason. In coming to a contract compromise with Vea before the regular season, the Bucs “didn’t act as if he was part of their long-term future, and if teams come looking for a big, run-stuffing defensive tackle, Tampa would be silly not to listen,” Graziano said. Vea through Week 6 has a 17 percent pass rush win rate, which ranks 15th among defensive tackles. - Denny Carter

I think he has potential to be a great receiving back, but then I think most RB's would be if you gave them such orders, do a quick block scan then separate yourself from the scrum, catch a drop off and run. Or Tucker would be more if given more chances.DanKD wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2026 1:48 pm And thats with the drops. I am feeling the doubt creep in with Jeanty. Holding it at (ever-diminishing) bay is our dogshit Guards. We have none. No Guards of starting NFL caliber. The only one with enough physical traits is too injury-prone, dumb, and (wtf) moody to be considered a legitimate starter. Don’t know about the rest of ya, but “moody” is not a behavior I’ve warmed up to over the years. Caveat, don’t know about Zuhn yet. Maybe we have 1.
Back to Jeanty, what if? What if what made him incredible in college just doesn’t translate? His calling card is/was fantastic contact balance, bounce, and vision. The “bounce” he’s been robbed of with the injury, and the vision doesn’t amount to much if the hole you see is closed before you can get there. The contact balance though is what I’m starting to wonder about.
Does incredible contact balance translate to the pros in the same way for a guy that’s that small (re: short)? Watching college tape you can see him bounce off of would-be-tacklers or bust through them. Of course now all those would-be-tacklers are the best that college can produce. They’re all bigger, faster, better tacklers. Jeanty is getting blasted into next Tuesday or stopped dead now. Reminds me of holding a little brother or nephew by the head as he’s frantically trying to punch you.
Iono man. If your top ten in the 1st round RB isn’t a Bijan Robinson, then it’s a bad pick unfortunately. There’s no trading him, RBs depreciate like a car being driven off the lot. The last star RB traded was McCaffrey. More often than not, even for the studs like Henry, Barkley, Walker etc., they just hit Free Agency and move on.
He’s a Raider for now, and more than likely a Raider until 2030 when he becomes an unrestricted FA. Then he’ll mosey along.

Hard to believe some of you are giving up on Jeanty. This year has sucked, but even tho he’s hurt he is still helping receiving out of the backfield.
The line is horrible…horrible…last year and this year he gets hit behind the line more than anyone. The stats have shown it.
Do the doubters not see him getting hit immediately?

I don't know if I'd see it as giving up on him as much as if someone else would overpay for him. I'd ship his ass off with the right trade package. Now, I didn't select him when I do my personal drafts but I do get and see the pick. I'd have went OL or DL first and build the trenches and then risk taking a "great back", not the other way around.
It would be interesting to see what he could do though if we had a top notch OL. Not seeing it in our immediate future though as I think we got absolute shit for parts there.
