NFL Trade Deadline
Ok maybe this doesn’t need its own thread but the deadline is 5 weeks away. I know the next couple weeks will determine if we are buyers but let’s say we get to 5-2 do we make a move?
I really wish we still had Jakobi here but it sounds like a few guys might be available…
Brian Thomas Jr
Marvin Harrison Jr
Jerry Jeudy
Thoughts?

Nelson’s a stud but assuming the idea is to extend him… that may be the most expensive interior line in nfl history.Willmark wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2026 4:04 pm Being a ND homer I was/am a bit biased. But Nelson has always been the real deal.
Generally, the correct move is to not draft guards high, he's one of the exceptions.
I’m more inclined to look at the colts d-line and see if Buckner is available. A bit older, not gonna cost too much, still playing well.

I would, (if we make a trade) prefer a dt or a wr. And either one I would want to be a younger/cheaper player that still has room to grow and under contract at a good price for a couple years. Other than that I would keep my draft picks and stick to the plan

Yeah, we’re not at the point where we should add expensive vets, and lose draft capital, at the trade deadline. The contenders can do that.vtraider wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2026 7:02 pm I would, (if we make a trade) prefer a dt or a wr. I agree with this. Furthermore, we can't forget that most of the "available" players do not want to come to a losing franchise, especially the "rent-a-player" ones like Nelson. Contending teams trying to reach the Super Bowl are the ones who will bid for Nelson in an effort to get them over or at the top. Why would Nelson want to finish the year buried in the AFC West? The trade deadline is November 10. Now if the Raiders reel off convincing victories over the Rams, Jets, and 49ers, attitudes might change.Jeevo wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2026 8:48 pm Yeah, we’re not at the point where we should add expensive vets, and lose draft capital, at the trade deadline. Note: me wanting Nelson is different than saying we should as an organization.
Make no mistake I want him and he is that good. And as noted above: I’m usually not a fan of paying guards top dollar. He’s one of those ones where the rules do not apply.

We need to draft guards or our line will get way too pricey
I'm beginning to wonder if the Linderbaum move was the right one

I mean i shudder to think what our line play and offense would look like with Meredith at center. Mendoza especially will be helped so much with Linderbaum in there. We overpaid but it was necessaryraider_kin wrote: Wed Oct 21, 2026 9:16 am We need to draft guards or our line will get way too pricey

Bonus: we signed him away from those dirt ball ravens.DanKD wrote: Wed Oct 21, 2026 9:23 am I mean i shudder to think what our line play and offense would look like with Meredith at center. Mendoza especially will be helped so much with Linderbaum in there. We overpaid but it was necessary

We 100% overpaid for Linderbaum but in my opinion we didn't address the rest of the OL. Now, we all realize you can't fix everything at once but I am 100% perplexed by drafting Zuhn and not playing him anywhere...are they admitting this is a mistake? I also can't believe we signed OG Burford this season and Cappa last season. What a major mistake and waste of money. I also still can't believe JPJ is still on this team as I'd packed his bags and traded him for something. Miller is not what he once was and I never felt like Linderbaum was all that. With that said, we still need 3 if not 4 other pieces in the future to have a solid OL & depth.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano believes Vita Vea could be traded before the NFL’s trade deadline.
With the Bucs’ 2026 season circling the drain, Vea, 31, could be dealt in the coming weeks to a contending team looking to beef up their defensive line for a second half run to the postseason. In coming to a contract compromise with Vea before the regular season, the Bucs “didn’t act as if he was part of their long-term future, and if teams come looking for a big, run-stuffing defensive tackle, Tampa would be silly not to listen,” Graziano said. Vea through Week 6 has a 17 percent pass rush win rate, which ranks 15th among defensive tackles. - Denny Carter

Lindy was the right move at that time. Best available but yes, expensive. He was never known to be a mauler but rather technically sound with high IQ. Having said that, many believe Lamar makes any oline look better because of how he plays. Who knows?
Lindy is not really the problem as much as poor guard play. Building a winning team is never static but rather always dynamic so its always a work in progress
