Big stinker from the defense. The Patriots smelled blood on defense and the offense isn't designed from playing behind with no deep threat ability. The defense has to be better to give the offense a chance to methodically move the ball down the field. We all knew that WR was a deficiency and they just have to keep working on keeping games close so play action is still effective. I'm still happy with 3-2 as it's still work in progress.

The Chiefs do the same thing. In fact, they had 3 TE's when K9 ran for 70 against us. We didn't stack the box at all and played 2 high.Raider_Dave wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 1:47 pm What a dopey thought. We face the most 8 man boxes because we run the most 2 and 3 TE sets.
Hard to stack the box when you know Mahomes will make you pay.

Defensive line did absolutely nothing all game and the secondary got exposed. Thats really all that needs to be said.
Oh and the run game is awful. Laube is getting too many opportunities and I have to assume it’s bc Washington is not up to speed on pass protection.

Game was a dumpster fire.
It was garbage time, but Mendoza looked sharp and completely in command. His mobility and arm strength would do wonders to open up our offense.
I still think we see Cousins start every game, unless the season gets out of control or he gets injured.

Nasty loss this one. No one came to play. The offenses limitations are obvious, but the defense played like shit today. The Pats ran all over the line and Maye had all day to throw. I know Leonard doesn’t exactly have choice pieces in his D, but he has to adjust better to the opposition after half time.
One more thing, If Jeanty is really playing injured, they should just put him on IR and let him heal properly.

Other teams now know what we're going to do. You can't run so much 12 and 13 and think other teams aren't gonna notice and plan accordingly.Willmark wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 1:53 pm Yeah it’s an odd one.
Last week we went toe to toe with the Chiefs and we had a shot. This week we get crushed from the get go.
Neither hurt per se as we’ve had so much losing over the years. At the same time today? Shrug well have to see what they do next week.
Our WR room is as weak as we feared, but counting on one TE to carry the load isn't sustainable. For better or worse, Kubiak has to accept that our O-line can't run block, so target the WRs more, run some more screens, and accept that Jeanty is either injured or isn't as good as we'd all hoped. He's no threat to run and no threat to catch.

Glad to see Mendoza get some snaps. Buffalo game might be even more ugly. He needs to learn. Not ready to throw him to the wolves but this team is going nowhere and he needs reps under fire.

Defense played like shit. No doubt about it, but at what point does it start to be said that Cousin's doesn't give us the best chance to win?

Clearly we can run multi TE sets and be successful. It’s simply he’s doing it backwards. Running so much early that we’re almost always behind the sticks.
And where is Mayer? One catch then disppeared.

OK I will call it. Here is the truth. The first three wins were an illusion. Saints are still at 1 win after 5 games. the dolphins just lost again in their most competitive game of the year and they are winless. I do not see the Chargers winning today even at home.
We beat three bad teams, we played up to a division rival and got stuffed by the Patriots. All we did was win three games against teams we should have beaten. We are still that rebuilding team. We are not ready for prime time. It was fun pretending but the reality is that while we are being coached up and we have some really interesting young talent, that is all we are. We are an also ran who is going to beat some teams but also going to lose more. It is a process.

I don't care if Washington is up to speed on pass protection or not. hell half, more than half the offensive line is not up to speed on pass protection. GET WASHINGTON IN THE DAMN FOOTBALL GAME KUBIAK! Best running back we have right now and he's not playing at all for some idiotic stupid reasons. I still don't know why or how lubee is still on this football team. and the fact he's getting running plays instead of washington is a mystery and a joke.NoClapsPlease wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 1:55 pm Defensive line did absolutely nothing all game and the secondary got exposed. Probably wouldn't have made much difference, but we killed ourselves with mental mistakes today also.
We turned loose a receiver deep for their first TD. Then didn't cover a receiver on a later short TD also.
We got a dumb PI call on a deep pass for their second TD. DB had him defended perfectly, but for some reason chucked him unnecessarily.
While talking about PI, how many drives of theirs did we keep alive with PI on 3rd downs? Had to be at least 4 or 5.
Then our center lines up offsides on the tush push. That's the second time we've been called on that this year.
Klint... please trash the end around to Tucker. I don't recall that working once this year and know that is at least the second time it has led to a huge loss.

I had us winning 6 or 7 and never wavered. It was fun to win a few but let's get real. The team really seems like they are headed in the right direction though. Real coaching staff but need a lot more talent. Our QB has barely gotten his feet wet yet. Future looks bright to me but its not there yetAttyla wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 2:09 pm OK I will call it. I go back to two things. You give up big yards on big penalties that keeps drives alive, you will lose more than you win. You lose the time of possession, you will lose more than you win. 2.1 yards per carry. That is a dagger to a team. OK, that was three things.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 2:13 pm I had us winning 6 or 7 and never wavered. It was fun to win a few but let's get real. Yep. The best we could realistically hope for is to beat the teams we should beat and steal one here and there. This next 5 game stretch is gonna be f'ing rough though. We'll almost certainly be 4-5 at the end of it.Attyla wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 2:09 pm OK I will call it. Here is the truth. The first three wins were an illusion. Overall it looks like 3 more we should win and hopefully grab another. Finishing 7-10 would be a huge improvement.
