If we have a chance to draft a WR in the first (all things being equal because we have a ton of needs), you do it. It is clearly a need and the position carriers the 2nd highest franchise tag (after QB) which shows their importance.

We certainly could've picked a wr before the 6-7rd (whenever Benson was picked). It was a glaring need and anything would've helped. I have no problem not picking one in the first few rounds but outside of that, one could've been pickedAttyla wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 7:33 am The way the draft fell to us, we were not able to get a WR1. I have zero problem with that because when our rookie finally plays, his best friend will be a strong run game (failure so far) and a great TE. We will address WR next year but we were never considered a team that would compete (surprise results) so fixing the D (success so far) and fleshing out the line (mixed bag so far) was the priority.
If we are competitive this year without one, imagine this team next year with one.
I have no doubt that the team and offense will come crashing back down to earth, especially once defenses start bracketing Bowers as we have no run game, a non mobile and fairly average arm qb that isn't a threat to throw the ball down field. No doubt that the offense has flashed it's potential and is a player or two away from being consistently good. It's going to fun to watch it develop

Agreed. Especially after we get another legit threat at wr. Then Bowers full potential will be unlocked. think the team comes back down to earth after the next 4-5 games. The deficiencies will be magnified by the better teams we playchucker wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 7:38 am We need to be better at WR to be a true contender. I didn't think this was our year to be a contender and I still don't, despite our 3-1 start. One true threat at WR will unlock more of Bowers because he won't need to be our "WR1" and he'll give defenses fits when there are more receiving threats to worry about. I'm still ok with our approach at WR because 2027 is still the goal IMO. Unfortunately we have had injuries at one of our weakest positions so it's gotten even weaker.

Thanks for a cogent response to that guy he is tiresome. According to him Jeanty is the bestest back EVAH and Washington couldn't make a juco team.Attyla wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:29 am Strange post. You are on a warpath over a guy who is a rookie and a 4th rounder over the top RB taken in his draft. Why? Because someone said the rookie should get more reps.
And you are praising 4 yards per carry. If he is really as good as you are saying, 4 yards per carry should be higher. 4 yards per carry is the average. And in the 4 games thus far, he is averaging 3.4 yards per carry. But you cherry pick stats so you can make points.
Whether due to injury or skill, he has not been good this year. Hell, last year he was mostly underwhelming. 3.7 yards per carry. But many gave him a pass because of Chip's offense. This is the one position where you make your bones the hard way. You hit holes and run hard. I want Jeanty to be great, but thus far he has been at or below average. The numbers do not lie.
As for Washington bouncing outside instead of the design play. That is also the position. If the hole is not there, you create. That is what the great one's do. Marcus is a perfect example of that. SB 18 he gets locked down, so he reverses course, bounces outside for 74 yards.
You are actually critical of a guy doing everything he can to create at the position. While the results are not there (he is a 4th round rookie for God's sake) you would rather bash the guy who is on the team you say you root for rather than admit that our run game in general is just not hacking it. And that STARTS with Jeanty since he is the starter.
PS I think Jeanty will be great but hasn't played that way yet, not all his fault

We would have been at the same place. WR1 is not found very often in the latter rounds. And if this year is any indication, thus far the guys we did take are some of the best day 3 guys we have gotten in a long long time.Hellbound wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 8:06 am We certainly could've picked a wr before the 6-7rd (whenever Benson was picked). I loved the Stukes pick but Boston would be helping out alot right now too. Though Id admittedly rather have Stukes. All Im saying is that instead of taking a Dalton Johnson or Cleveland, take a stab at a wr. It wouldn't have been any worse than cutting a 7th round dt or signing a 27 yr old street fa that we hope can do somethingAttyla wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 8:50 am We would have been at the same place. If I am reading the room correctly, we focused on key offensive pieces but the real focus was fixing the defense. And again if I am reading the moves correctly, their was an understanding that it was, at the very least, this was a two year process. And again, just seeing the moves, we were intentional that Mendoza was not going to start immediately so we had the luxury of waiting to address the receiver room. Nobody really saw us as 3-1 and in it. Now, that may be a mirage but watching the games, Cousins has played up in the system rather than just being a mentor. That was unexpected.Hellbound wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 9:13 am I loved the Stukes pick but Boston would be helping out alot right now too. Though Id admittedly rather have Stukes. I am cool being patient to get the receiver we want, and not get the one we need.

I for one didn't think we could be a playoff team this year but if we were to go 3-2 for our next five games I think its possible. We'd need to beat the Pats and Jets and pull one out on the Bills, Rams or 9ers. Nobody would've picked 6-3 after 9 games but if this team has truly turned a corner then 6-3 is a pretty good position to be in for a playoff run in my opinion.
Now that I have posted this we're probably going to crap the bed.

Unexpected play from Cousins for a majority of the fans. There were a few of us that liked the Cousins signing and knew what he was bringing to the tableAttyla wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 9:21 am If I am reading the room correctly, we focused on key offensive pieces but the real focus was fixing the defense. I agree, nobody could predict 14 TDs through 4 games. Not at his age coming off an injury.Hellbound wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 10:27 am Unexpected play from Cousins for a majority of the fans. There were a few of us that liked the Cousins signing and knew what he was bringing to the table

I agree with everything that you're saying and with the quick start, we are kind of playing with house money. I still only expect 7ish wins this season. We are still a few players and key position depth away from being where we want to be. Ride the Kirko Chains train until it stops, then throw Mendoza in. Next year is the year for legit expectationsAttyla wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 9:21 am If I am reading the room correctly, we focused on key offensive pieces but the real focus was fixing the defense. We will have money to spend, which can in theory accelerate the build. And I have a perfect receiver that should be there when we pick. And when I say perfect, I mean exactly that. Charlie Becker offers up first round talent and familiarity with Mendoza. They won the National Championship together. Perfect.Hellbound wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 10:38 am I agree with everything that you're saying and with the quick start, we are kind of playing with house money. And even more surprising is Cousins playing well under pressure - that's always been a weakness in the past.Attyla wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 10:33 am I agree, nobody could predict 14 TDs through 4 games. Not at his age coming off an injury.

I also want Washington to get more reps.Attyla wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:29 am Strange post. You are on a warpath over a guy who is a rookie and a 4th rounder over the top RB taken in his draft. Why? Because someone said the rookie should get more reps.
Yes I am.And you are praising 4 yards per carry.
No, it shouldn't, and no it isn't. The only way that would be higher is if he broke off a bunch of random 20+ runs. That doesn't tell you if the RB is talented or not and is currently the problem with how everyone is grading the backup. If he is really as good as you are saying, 4 yards per carry should be higher. 4 yards per carry is the average.
I'm well aware of what his average for the season is, which is why if you actually read my post, I was commenting on Jeanty's performance based on the best run defenses he's faced. That's not cherry-picking stats, because the context is explained IN the post. And in the 4 games thus far, he is averaging 3.4 yards per carry. But your cherry pick stats so you can make points.
Cherry picking stats would be, ignoring Washington's performance against the Chiefs and using his 5 carries against the 29th ranked run defense to claim he should be starting.
Yeah, just lost all credibility. Jeanty had 1200+ APY as a rookie. Ignoring all of his numbers and just posting his rushing ypc would be cherry picking stats.Hell, last year he was mostly underwhelming.
You also catch the ball, which Jeanty is elite at.You hit holes and run hard.
You're right they don't.I want Jeanty to be great, but thus far he has been at or below average. The numbers do not lie.
Jeanty is currently on pace for over 1800 APY. That's a solid season for an RB. If he wasn't playing injured it would be 2000, which is elite.
Ha.As for Washington bouncing outside instead of the design play. That is also the position. If the hole is not there, you create. That is what the great one's do.
Great RB's also rise to the occasion. In our most important game of the season, Jeanty had double Washington's YPC. If Washington is as great as you all say, he needs to do it against a team that's not ranked 29th against the run. Since you want to talk about averages, if Washington has another game like the Chiefs, his average will be lower than Jeanty's, and that's with less carries.
You guys keep harping on average because that's all you have, which is why I did a carry for carry comparison. Jeanty's average is going up the last couple of games, Washington's average keeps going down. In fact, if it wasn't for that one run against the 29th ranked defense, Washington's ypc would already be lower than Jeanty's. So much for cherry picking stats huh?
Except for the fact that Jeanty did his best work against the best run defenses. Washington has yet to prove it against a good run defense. And that STARTS with Jeanty since he is the starter.
Just for the record, using Jeanty's injury to make a talent claim is bad faith debating. That's like claiming Brock Bowers is overrated because of his second year. I love how everyone keeps things in context when it's players they like (Bowers), but with Jeanty they ignore every statline except the one that makes him look bad.
When Washington plays bad it's the OL. When Jeanty plays injured he's a bust. Yeah, no bias there.
I'm not against Washington at all; I want him to get 50% of the carries for the rest of the season. It's not my fault he's not good enough to warrant that in the eyes of the coaching staff.

I’d love Becker but, with the way the team is playing, I doubt he’d make it to the Raiders. I J.Smith, Becker &, Coleman will be top 10 picks. Maybe one of them in the 10-13 range.Attyla wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 10:41 am We will have money to spend, which can in theory accelerate the build. If that were to happen, a great “consolation” prize would be, Reed Harris. I loved Boston (said he was being underrated by the “experts”) &, I think Reed Harris might be a little bit better as a prospect. Another could be Omarion Miller in the 2nd or 3rd if he drops a bit.
