Post Game thread - no moral victories, But…
Don’t believe in moral victories but the Raiders fought till the end.
In years past this team would have folded. It wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t mistake free but we just proved we can go toe to toe with the Chiefs this year.

We beat the Pats last year with a half dead coach. We can do it next week.

f[raiders_icon]ck the Chiefs.
It's Raiders week my wife allows me some latitude with my rants. I have calmed down considerably since the 1990's.
I don't think I have ever been prouder of the Raiders.

I honestly really can’t complain too much about this game. Bad break on a kickoff that we came close to overcoming but fell short.
The fact that we nearly came back from an 11 point deficit in 3.5 minutes is not indicative of a fake team that beat a bunch of bad-mid teams. We lost but I think we also got an answer as to whether this team is for real… and that’s a yes.
In terms of the complaints about kubiak…. I honestly don’t get it. This is the best a team has looked here in a long f[raiders_icon]cking time. It’s not even close. The offence with receivers nobody outside this forum can name and Kirk cousins is humming. The defence is humming. And this is one year removed from being every bit as bad as our 3-14 record suggested.
In hindsight should we have taken the field goal… sure. Was it a bad decision at the time? No not really. 4th and 2 deep in scoring territory and our D got a stop immediately afterwards. I get the rationale but yes obviously you get second guessed when you wind up losing by 3.

It’s just a game, I’m not on a ledge, just don’t want them to blow an opportunity. Klint just said he doesn’t regret taking the points off the board but he wanted the points in the 4th quarter. Again, the feel for the game & the opponent should matter more than analytics or “playing to win”. He better learn from itRaiderandBulldog wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2026 5:13 pm 1 We will find out what the Raiders are in the. Ext few weeks after today. We plays the Pats ,Bills and, rams up next. We should be the jets so if we go 3-1 again this team will make the playoffs.
2 Klint got out coached today by Reid. I get wanting to be aggressively and changing the culture but numerous times I said, to myself that we should not being doing that. I don’t like taking point away when you play the Chiefs. You need to learn the feel of the game.
3 the fight of this team. The last few Raiders teams would have rolled over very quickly but they gave themselves a chance.
4 Chief fans were shitting themselves. I had the misfortune to watch a lot of the game with a couple and they were scared! Don’t let them tell you overwise. We had some bad luck and rookie HC mistakes that cost us the game.
5 All we wanted this year was improve. We got that,

One dimension Mendoza offers is mobility. There were a few times today where mobility would have made a huge difference. That said Cousins is playing well. He is our guy and probably will be the NFL's comeback player of the year.
Upward and onward.

You don't have to insult anyone. We came away with 0 and could've had three and then we ended up losing the game by 3 points. It's fine to support a coach but it's also fine to be critical of what was an easily identifiable mistake at the time and what ended up being the scoring distance in the end.grosse gurke wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2026 5:08 pm People blaming going for it on 4th early....morons. So much game left. It was the fumble that killed us....end of story.

He's in his fourth game as a HC. Then contrast it with which fans are hyperventilating over him and it tells you all you need to know.raiders93 wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2026 5:19 pm I honestly really can’t complain too much about this game. I expect he'll learn from this and correct.

The outcome was disappointing and the old adage is you never take points off of the board. But our coach needs a wheelbarrow to carry his nuts in.Sloth_Fratelli wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2026 5:19 pm It’s just a game, I’m not on a ledge, just don’t want them to blow an opportunity. Gruden's teams always faded down the stretch in part because he was way too conservative.

This could've ended in a tie if Kubiak didn't gamble on that one play where we had kicked the field goal and the Chiefs committed a penalty. Then again turnovers was our ultimate downfall.

I hate losing to the f[raiders_icon]cking Chiefs but we are in a position to bitch about a 3-1 start and a close loss against a good team away from being 4-0. I'll take it.
If anyone on this forum said we would be 3-1 going into week five, one month ago, their inbox would had been flooded with PM's suggesting psychiatric help and expressing concerns about substance abuse.
This loss sucks but there is enough optimism in the process to look past it.

13 points on the board at the beginning of the 4th quarter, we gotta do better than that. KC's defense isn't the 85 bears. Pretty obvious that weirdo Reid told everyone to just hold bowers when the pass is coming to him because the refs will call some but they will let more go. Chiefs are the easy favorite to win the SB right now barring a bunch of injuries.
Only one team can win it all and for our team playing that well and stating so isn't a moral victory in my book at least. It's obvious how much better we have become. WAY too many chiefs fans in the stadium today, not sure what it is but I suspect a big part of it is we don't even have fair weather fans? Looks like a bunch of people purchased seats and tickets just to turn a buck. They seriously couldn't care less about this team?

We needed one first down to end the Tuck Game and have Tim Brown and Jerry Rice as WRs...yeah...Reno Hightower wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2026 5:25 pm Gruden's teams always faded down the stretch in part because he was way too conservative.
