In that particular year, either teams just didn't need or value RBs, or maybe they didn't evaluate the talent very well. K9 was the second RB off the board at #41; Breece Hall was first at #36. K9 had 1216 yards that year. Hall had 681.SkullCrusher wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2026 4:13 pm Yes possibly. But it shows how you can get amazing talent further down then you normally would at other positions.

Is it me or does JPJ go down for a week when facing great DTs. Last time was the scrimmage against the Texans this summer.

That's where the miscommunication could be.SkullCrusher wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2026 4:03 pm Yes I do think he was drafted too high generally speaking, but that was the position we had.
Those GM's are wrong. How people feel about WR's is how they should feel about RB's. Our RB group is more talented than our WR's and we are 3-0.I wasn't against it, I wasn't strongly for it either 'cause I do devalue RB's draft positioning, which is common amongst actual GMs.
Rich Gannon's Raiders had the best of the best (Brown, Porter, Rice), probably one of the best WR groups in NFL history. However, I would argue that Charlie Garner was the engine to that offense. Rich Gannon could dump it off and Garner would become a yardage slot machine.
My take is: If you can draft a WR top 10 and no one bats an eye (even though you need at least 2 to be a dominate team), why is it a problem to draft RB in the top 10 (when you only need one elite RB to be competitive)?
Agreed. But once your drafted a Raider I'm all for you killing it.
Fair enough."Washington balls out better", you see those are your words.
On the contrary, me and Attyla got into an argument because I thought Washington should get the ball more. You say you haven't seen anything from Washington to be better, well I'm not even saying better, but useful and should get more tries because he has produced since he got here, very well actually. Why do you deny that?
I'm looking forward to Kubiak doing exactly that against the Chiefs.
Keeping Jeanty fresh is of paramount importance, but it puts Kubiak in a dilemma:In my world Jeanty gets less mileage and it seems many think he maybe playing hurt so that's a good reason to level this out more.
You have a QB who's playing lights out. Part of that is because what Kirk Cousins lacks in physical gifts (especially with age), he makes up for in the mental aspect of the game. Defenses (for the most part) have been daring Cousins to beat them, and the reason why, is because of one Ashton Jeanty.
Defenses are more afraid of what Ashton Jeanty can potentially do, then they are of "old-man" Cousins. Opposing defenses have been stacking the box and biting hard on play-action, which is Kubiak's bread and butter. Will that change if Jeanty is not in the game? Would Cousins have the same success if defenses respected the pass? *shrugs* Who knows.
That may not be how some Raider fans feel, but it's certainly how opposing defenses feel when they play the Raiders on Sunday.
Good.I think Klint mentioned as much and Wash will get more attempts.

Reid and Mahomes are always tough. But we have played them well with lesser teams and lesser head coaches. It's been in the back of mind that eventually the weaknesses of this team will be exposed and last week the Saints did exactly that for a quarter.HesterLayes wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2026 3:39 pm Been fan since ‘82… feel free to yell at me here
I just don’t feel good about matching up with Reid and Mahomes..it almost makes me anxious watching Sunday haha.
Too many beat downs and other close games we could have won outside a shitty call
Or ten…that Monday night one when we have Davante.
Any one else feeling the same way or am I just a big pussy?
Guess I need to see it before I believe it.. also,I’m in Missouri..so it’s been terrible for a while for me![]()

Here is the thing though, this team has proven to be very resilient. Things haven't always gone well but someone has stepped up and made a play. I think this game will be a very good indicator of how far this team has come in such a short period of time.
I understand your apprehension but I think we will hang with Kansas City and maybe even pull off an upset.

It’s all perspective. So an upset for anyone surprised by the win. I on the other hand expect the win, Raiders are the favorites. The sportsbooks will catch on eventually.

JPJ is talented, but injury prone. Once again he has an injury.KillerRaider30 wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2026 5:56 pm Is it me or does JPJ go down for a week when facing great DTs. Last time was the scrimmage against the Texans this summer.

We definitely need to run block better than we have so far....imo this is the difference in this game. Walker will get some yards on us for sure but our secondary and LB crew will have a major impact and I believe we will keep the turnover machine running. We have to be able to run the ball successfully...Kubiak will not go away from it whether we are successfull or not which is a positive, but to win... we have to have positive gains throughout this game.

Contact powskiI look forward to the game but I am definitely going off forum during and probably awhile before and after the game. Not that it needs to be announced lol, but I just become crazed and KNOW I will overreact and make some regrettable posts if...never mind. I get too out of my mind when we play them. I only want to destroy them. Nothing else matters. Its even worse than with the Broncos. I need my mind focused and the beast locked up for at least a day.
I still keep the 40k view and the faith, but in the heat of the moment I can absolutely lose my mind vs KC. Even if/when we beat KC we still got things to fix and far to go.

This is a very big game in many ways. Being competitive, even in a loss, will give this team much needed boost. A win puts literally everyone in the league on notice. Beating the Chiefs would be viewed as a major step up in talent and this team to be taken seriously.
Until we beat a top team, we will continue to be considered a fluke, a lucky team. Time to put that shit to rest.
