He gave us a glimpse of that generational (I hate that term) talent. He put the team on his back.

“Ashton Jeanty is already showing up in the record books
The production alone would have been enough to celebrate, but the historical context makes it even better. Jeanty notched his third career 100-yard rushing game. According to the Raiders’ PR team, his three 100-yard games are the third most in franchise history among running backs in their first 18 career games, trailing only Josh Jacobs with five and Marcus Allen with four.
He also recorded his second career game with 100 rushing yards and two receiving touchdowns, tying Christian McCaffrey and Brian Westbrook for the most such games in NFL history. That is a pretty ridiculous feat for a player entering just his second professional season.” -Yardbarker
That 2nd paragraph is nice. Can’t wait til Mendo comes in and cleans up the blight on our passing records.

Ok, prepare yourselves to toss some tomatoes at me, but I gotta say it. Jeanty has not looked good the past couple of weeks, and I wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be last season. I get the ankle injury and I hope it is just that.
My concerns that you may or may not care about:
1. Seems to me that he has missed running lanes. Often, running up the back side of a lineman where he could have made a cut to daylight. I think this my biggest concern.
2. Obviously, AJ is powerful, and has great body control, which allows him to break tackles well. He had a way in college where he provided a "false front" and positioned his body well to shed tackles against defenders. This technique worked well in college, but doesn't' seem to work as well for him in the NFL. Sometimes I think that he is just too small to be an NFL elite. From what I saw last year, and many times this year, he gets bottled up by a tackler too easily for my taste.
3. Often I think when he drops a pass, or when the ball is out of reach for him that he doesn't have the size to present a good target. The QB has to be pretty accurate to hit such a small target. Granted, he had a really nice grab over his head a couple of weeks ago for a TD, but overall, he is a tough throw IMO. When you have to throw over a Defensive lineman, with arms streched high at about 9 feet,, and drop it to a 5'7" running back who is 5 yards past the LOS in themiddle of the field, it doesn't seem like an easy task.
Last year, I blamed a majority of his lack of production on the putrid Oline. Not saying the current Oline is elite, but it is certainly improved. I thought for sure this year I would see a lot more second level runs, where AJ has a great chance to break those one on one tackles and break huge gains. I have not really seen that. IMO his biggest issue is cutting to daylight vs. NFL caliber talent. I witnessed that a few times last year, but really not much this year.
For the record, I am not hating on this kid. I traded to get him on my FF team, and still have high hopes and want him to be a BIjan type talent.
Anyway, that's my opinion.

ashton jeanty is a bowling ball and lacks elite speed when compared to bijan or gibbs...i would like to see washington get 8-10 touches a game kid is much more explosive and presents a much larger target as a reciever

He doesn't seem 100%. He has explosiveness but he's not showing it so far this season. He looks slow and as others have mentioned, his vision doesn't seem all that great. I hope we're not keeping him on the field because he was a high first round pick.

MY EYEBALL TEST : everytime washington gets a chance the kid looks explosive on the field and it showed again yesterday in our win over the saints ...over n over again ashton jeanty would run into his guys and go down or get swallowed up for a yds or 2 his vision is also lacking cause he could have bounced it outside for big chunks but instead chose to run up the backs of his own oline and then get swallowed upOpoponax50 wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2026 8:35 am He doesn't seem 100%. I'd like Washington to get serious snaps just to have a fair way to see what he can do. In preseason he looked great, but that wasn't always against starters.
I also think Jeanty isn't an A gap runner. The NFL D lines don't let him bounce, they just smother.

I think they need to run to the outside more with him, running him hard up the middle just isn't working although it isn't for lack of effort.
I also am sure that he is having ankle issues as well.

For the first 3 game:
Jeanty 63 carries for 206 yards with an average of 3.3
Washington 15 carries for 102 yards with an average of 6.8
So if Mike had Jeanty's carries which would be 48 more do you think it would be more than 104 yards?

It feels like a luxury that there's legitimate debate about which running back is better, as both have shown very promising potential and production. In years past, it was always arguing about who was worse. Impressive start overall by the team. They've beat the teams on their schedule, but the schedule gets tough. I've been entertained and dare I say I've actually enjoyed Raider football. I haven't been able to say that for quite some time.

for the first time in a long time, im watching the games from start to finish and having a great time, in the past its was usually over by half time and just waiting for the bad plays that put the game away for a loss followed by heavy drinking and wallowing the rest of the week for the next game knowing we were gonna lose most of the timeDokie85 wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2026 1:41 pm It feels like a luxury that there's legitimate debate about which running back is better, as both have shown very promising potential and production.
