On to the Chargers.
After a successful week one win, the Raiders are going to their second home at the Chargers this week.

I don't fear the Broncos or Chargers. What separated them from us was coaching staff, and now that gap has been crossed. We dominated the Broncos last year in the first primetime game until JPJ got hurt and the refs called a bs hold.Viper wrote: Mon Sep 14, 2026 5:46 pm I wouldn’t say I can easily see a split this season between the Broncos and Chiefs but I’d be ecstatic if that’s the case.

Turnovers will be far more costly against the Chargers. Jeanty is a good enough player that he can overcome being the focal point of opposing defensesive game plans. The Texans were the best defense we faced last season and Jeanty had a career game against them running behind last year's OL.
The Chargers are a much better team than the Fish but you play them as they come. I don't believe anyone should concede this matchup.

I remember a few months back there was a major slowdown that was attributed to a bot attack.

...i'm going glass half full going into the chargers, and especially when compared to how I would have thought how ready we might be this early on, and when seeing the schedule. ...I was sort of hoping we could play the dolphins twice to start the year..;...Attyla wrote: Tue Sep 15, 2026 3:24 am https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl/articl ... 41481.html

...when you play who you play also matters, and we may get a bit lucky early on with the chargers apparently struggling, and us having a game under our belt with all of the new stuff..

I think they felt good about not playing with Brock week 1 and were holding him for week 2. So hopefully he will be back, it will be amazing to have him available. This offense is going to be hard to defend.

I think you're right. I didn't watch a single snap of this game but that seems to be the overall consensus. New offensive schemes take a little while to get used to. I expect it to be close but I'll probably take the Chargers at home.Diesis wrote: Mon Sep 14, 2026 7:16 am The Chargers offense is probably still bedding in Mike McDaniel's new scheme so unfortunately I would expect them to be better this week against us![]()

We got the W vs the Dolphins, but this kind of passing game won't get us many wins vs NFL teams:

I've never been a fan of Kirk. He has a noodle arm like Garoppolo. Hopefully he does not continue making stupid passes like Gino. You can get away with that when playing Miami.Raidernation1979 wrote: Mon Sep 14, 2026 1:58 pm I know this if Kirk keeps throwing stupid INTs, we have to make the switch. A better makes us pay for those and we likely don’t win.

Defenses are always ahead of offenses in the beginning of the season. I expect the Chargers will play MUCH better this weekend (not just because they are playing us).

However this week was tied with 2012 or 2013 I think for most points scored in week 1 of the season.RI RAIDER wrote: Tue Sep 15, 2026 5:34 am Defenses are always ahead of offenses in the beginning of the season. His leash would be very short. I’d rather see Mendo throwing some picks learning than Kirk doing itRI RAIDER wrote: Tue Sep 15, 2026 5:30 am I've never been a fan of Kirk.
