According to every actual medical professional I've seen reporting on this, Bowers should not be looking at a return timeframe shorter than 4 weeks. It's not a playoff game, and not likely to factor into a playoff push because this team isn't ready yet, so I would hope they play this one very cautiously. The reports I saw were that it was Bowers and people close to him talking about an early return.

I cant imagine he plays week 2 but id think how much is trimmed off plays a role. Hopeuflly he had very minimal damaged tissuechucker wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 9:09 am According to every actual medical professional I've seen reporting on this, Bowers should not be looking at a return timeframe shorter than 4 weeks. Yeah, it was minimal but in this case, I'm hoping management will err on the side of caution.DanKD wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 9:59 am I cant imagine he plays week 2 but id think how much is trimmed off plays a role. Hopeuflly he had very minimal damaged tissue

We have to be careful about WR lest we put a prima donna in Mendo's earDanKD wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 6:27 pm Our receivers suck but short of passing on Mendoza or overpaying someone like pierce we were only going to do so much.
Receiver needs to be probably the #1 priority next offseason along with any remaining weak ol spot

Yes, the amount they trim matters but this is a simple procedure that is mostly just to reduce some pain. It is an outpatient procedure and while he did not walk out after, he could literally just get some crutches and be mobile that same day. Smoothing out the padding as it were. Recovery times vary like most operations but usually you are able to do normal activities within days. More strenuous activities such as football would obviously be longer. They will use scans to determine when the swelling is down. He is not likely to risk more damage so it is literally a pain level and inflammation thing. But again, yea, the amount trimmed will play a bigger factor in this. I have seen this combined with an actual injection of stuff that helps cushion the joint, but that is when you are losing a lot of your meniscus. Think lubricant. My brother had that done every year.DanKD wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 9:59 am I cant imagine he plays week 2 but id think how much is trimmed off plays a role. They are all prima donna's. Get as much production as you can and then cut them loose before their second contract when they start to metastasize into a locker room cancer.raider_kin wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 10:30 am We have to be careful about WR lest we put a prima donna in Mendo's ear

We all have no idea about the exact procedure Brock had done. I don't trust the reporting on what it was one way or the other

Yes, always draft WR rather than FA for the reason you point outReno Hightower wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 10:39 am They are all prima donna's. Get as much production as you can and then cut them loose before their second contract when they start to metastasize into a locker room cancer.

The key element in selecting a receiver is to not have a hood rat. Any previous hood rat behavior eliminates said player imo. That's the concise way to put it

Bowers has superstar written all over him. Why rush him back earlier than necessary? Handle him with kid gloves.

I don't see this happening as I'm pretty sure it was Kubiak that said there were no turds on the team.raider_kin wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 10:30 am We have to be careful about WR lest we put a prima donna in Mendo's ear
